You are bidding on a Fantastic Vintage Tiffany & Company Tambour Style Ships Bell Mantel Clock. The clock measures approximately 24" wide, 12" tall & 6" deep. It has a resonator on the reverse. I did not remove the front of the movement, however if you use a mirror you can see that it says United Kingdom, which would mean this movement is NOT a Chelsea. eBay Seth Thomas "Giant" Beehive Gothic Sonora Chime No.16 Mantle Clock Seth Thomas "Giant" Beehive Gothic Sonora Chime No.16 Mantle Clock Description This clock was manufactured by The Seth Thomas Clock Company of Thomaston, Connecticut. This is a Giant Sonora Chime. It measures 18" high, 12" wide and weighs 18lbs. The case is a beautiful walnut and is in excellent condition. 7.5" metal dial with black Arabic numerals, Seth Thomas Spade hands, and with Seth Thomas Sonora Chime and Made in the U.S.A. stamped on it. There are 3 winding holes and a time adjuster under the hands. Beveled glass and a brass bezel. There is a silent feature on the right side of the clock, which you can turn the chimes off. #89n movement which powers the timekeeping, and a 90a movement which powers the Sonora Chimes and has a Seth Thomas pendulum. Both movements have been completely cleaned and overhauled and the clock is being sold in guaranteed running condition. Please see video below images for demonstration of the chime sound. Sonora Chimes was created by the Sonora Chime Company in New York. In 1912 Seth Thomas purchased the rights to them, did a little modifications to fit clocks, and started making them. This clock despite being big has a beautiful sound to it. New Haven " Winnipeg" Wall Clock
New Haven " Winnipeg" Wall Clock New Haven " Winnipeg" Wall Clock Description This wall clock was made by the New Haven Clock Company of New Haven Connecticut. New Haven was in business from 1853 and like most good companies closed their doors in 1960's. Winnipeg is the largest city and the capital of Manitoba Canada. This is an 8 day spring driven striking movement. It counts out the hours on a cathedral gong. Movement has been completely cleaned and overhauled and is in guaranteed running condition. See video below images for demonstration of strike sound. The case is a beautiful Walnut. 3 top turned finials adorn the head and 3 turned finials adorn the bottom. On the top, sides, and bottom there is carved decor to adorn the clock. Original reverse painted glass on the door. On the back there is hand painted red which looks pink on the front, black, and a dark turquoise. Gold reverse on the front with a montage of florals, palm trees, a little sparrow, and Greek style surround the pendulum window. Paper dial with black Roman numerals. There is a partial or what is left of a label on the back. Brass pendulum. Dimensions are Height 36" (29" without finials), Width 12.5", Depth 4.5", and Weight 15 lbs. Circa 1880 I believe this to be a fairly scarce clock. I have never before owned or even seen one. Overall, a very clean and nice example. eBay Seth Thomas Sonora Chime 4 Bell Adamantine Mantle Clock Seth Thomas Sonora Chime 4 Bell Adamantine Mantle Clock Description This clock was made by The Seth Thomas Clock Company of Thomaston, Connecticut. This is a beautiful brownish red Adamantine that is in good condition. Seth Thomas bought the rights to use Adamantine in 1881. It is made of a celluloid veneer that is glued onto the wood. Perfect porcelain 4.5" dial that has fancy Arabic numerals in black. The dial has Seth Thomas, Slow/Fast adjuster, Sonora Chime, and a lever (to silent the chimes), with Seth Thomas spade hands. Cute little brass ball feet, brass bezel, and the Seth Thomas pendulum that has a boy on a fence. There are 2 movements inside this clock. The first one is for the 8 day time and strike #89, every half hour it dings on 4 bells and on the hour counts out the hour. The second movement is for the Sonora chimes, #90. Seth Thomas bought the rights to use Sonora chimes in his clocks in 1912 from the Sonora Chime Company. After "tinkering" so they would fit in clocks he began to use them. Inside is a wooden box that holds the 4 bells and acts as a sounding box for the bells. There are 5 hammers, 4 are for the Westminster chimes on the quarter hour and the 5th hammer strikes the hour. Both movements have been completely cleaned and overhauled and the clock is being sold in guaranteed running condition. Please see video below images for demonstration of the chime sound. ANTIQUE 1700's Nathanel Hedge of Colchester English Clock w Pendulum and Keys
This is your chance to own a very nice clock from a highly respected clockmaker dating to the 1700s. Very old piece other clock collectors would be envious of! This antique clock from Nathaniel Hedge is a true treasure for collectors. Crafted in the late 1700s, it features a beautiful round shape with a brass face and brass movement and a wooden frame. The clock is mechanical and has a pendulum. It comes with 2 keys. One for the case and one for the clock. The clock was manufactured in the United Kingdom and is a great example of the antique artistry of the time period. This clock is a must-have for any clock enthusiast or lover of antique furniture Nathaniel Hedge III (1710–1795) was an English clockmaker based in Colchester in Essex.Hedge was apprenticed to the Colchester clockmaker John Smorthwaite in 1728 and married Smorthwaite's daughter Sarah in 1733. Hedge went on to become a prosperous and highly respected clockmaker Examples of Hedge's work can be found in the Mason collection at the Colchester Clock Museum.The clock face, casing, and movement all look original. Pretty near identical hands are shown on p. 88 of English Domestic Clocks, by Cescinsky and Webster. The clock does seem to work and tick when i swing the pendulum but as always i would recommend a good maintenance to have it in original working order and time keeping ability. Antique Oak Wall Clock E Howard Model 70 Weight Driven
eBay This is an almost pristine oak-cased E Howard model 70 weight-driven clock. It appears to have all of its original parts except for the glass in the clock face itself. There is the original glass in the pendulum part of the clock, though it is not fixed to the case. I also have the winding crank.I do not know whether it works as I have not fully tested it, though it "ticks" when I hold it steady; these clocks really need to be perfectly level to function properly. The mechanism looks in very good condition for its age, but I am not an expert and therefore it is sold as seen. You can collect it from Portland, Maine, or I can ship it to you, but please wait for an invoice so that I can determine the correct shipping fee for your area. Waterbury "Catalena" Cast Iron Black Mantle Clock Waterbury "Catalena" Cast Iron Black Mantle Clock Description /This clock was made by The Waterbury Clock Company of Waterbury Connecticut. They were formed in 1873 famous for their pocketwatches, sold in 1944, but now known as Timex. The model name is Catalena. Included is a photo from the Montgomery catalog. 8 day Rack and Snail striking movement, on cathedral gong. Every half hour and on the hour strikes on the gong. The Rack and Snail movement is so you can go forward or backwards and the clock will stay in sync. On the movement is stamped Pat Nov 1st, 1881, and Waterbury with their early 5 point star logo. The dial is porcelain with one flaw between the 11th and 12th hour. Fancy black Arabic numerals. Open brass escapement with pierced filagree background and what appears to be two dragons in the background. Brass bezel that has beveled glass. The sides and bottom is adorned with brass filagree rosettes. On the bottom is a blank label... we could not find the make of this clock. I believe it to be fairly scarce. I have not seen this model before. Circa 1885. Dimensions are Height 10", Width 13", Depth 5", and Weight 15 lbs. This model name is Shekel. A Shekel is a monetary unit of Israel. Old Shekel was a silver coin, and also used as a weight. New Shekel is all money. One Shekel equals 0.27 cents in US currency. The case is Oak with beautifully carved decor to adorn the front. Lion's head and two figurines made of Spelter. Reversed silkscreen glass done in silver with a Greek theme. Original paper dial with black Roman numerals. Time and strike spring driven 8-day movement that strikes once on the half hour and every hour counts out on a gong.
