eBay Seth Thomas "Giant" Beehive Gothic Sonora Chime No.16 Mantle Clock Seth Thomas "Giant" Beehive Gothic Sonora Chime No.16 Mantle Clock Description This clock was manufactured by The Seth Thomas Clock Company of Thomaston, Connecticut. This is a Giant Sonora Chime. It measures 18" high, 12" wide and weighs 18lbs. The case is a beautiful walnut and is in excellent condition. 7.5" metal dial with black Arabic numerals, Seth Thomas Spade hands, and with Seth Thomas Sonora Chime and Made in the U.S.A. stamped on it. There are 3 winding holes and a time adjuster under the hands. Beveled glass and a brass bezel. There is a silent feature on the right side of the clock, which you can turn the chimes off. #89n movement which powers the timekeeping, and a 90a movement which powers the Sonora Chimes and has a Seth Thomas pendulum. Both movements have been completely cleaned and overhauled and the clock is being sold in guaranteed running condition. Please see video below images for demonstration of the chime sound. Sonora Chimes was created by the Sonora Chime Company in New York. In 1912 Seth Thomas purchased the rights to them, did a little modifications to fit clocks, and started making them. This clock despite being big has a beautiful sound to it.
