JAEGER LECOULTRE ATMOS MOON PHASE Cal. 540 CLOCK COMPLETE SET
JAEGER LECOULTRE ATMOS MOON PHASE Cal. 540 CLOCK COMPLETE SETAtmos caliber 540 with moon phase in a gold-plated case, this is a "New Old Stock" item from a private collector, comes with original box and matched serial number tag, manuals and an original moon phase adjustment tool included.Serial number: 706461.Condition:New Old Stock in Excellent working condition! We have the clock run for two days and it maintains excellent performance, keeping excellent time! The original dark blue box has clear signs of wear, the original foam wrap bag for the clock wrapping has been teared, please see the last picture for details. Please understand that you are buying a Atmos clock, the Atmos clocks do not keep perfect time like the modern quartz clocks.I live in Colorado, the city of Colorado Springs is 6,035 feet above sea level, and some of our most celebrated natural attractions are even higher--like Pikes Peak, at an impressive 14,115 feet above sea level. Since this clock is now tuned for time at high altitude, if the new owner lives at a lower altitude, some necessary calibration upon arrival at the destination might be required. After shipping, the Atmos clock might need some adjustment. If you move the Atmos clock from one room to the other,Please make sure to lock the balance wheel before doing any moving and adjustments. The adjustments of the liquid level may be needed after each move.Even if noted as working great, due to its age, it might need service anytime. Please understand that due to the delicate nature of these Atmos clock adjustments may be needed after each move.We have shipped a number of these fine Atmos clocks to various countries without any damage problems. The balance wheel(pendulum) will be locked carefully, and the clock packed with double boxes, ship with full coverage insurance to USA 48 States ONLY. Due to the high value and fragility of this clock, we do not offer international shipping.Interesting facts:Even though Leonardo da Vinci was able to prove that the production of a perpetual motion machine was physically impossible, it was still attempted time and again. In 1928, Neuchatel engineer Jean Leon Reuter invented the technology for a clock whose energy source was drawn from the ambient air, from the atmosphere so to speak. As there were repeated problems with the watches, the movements were manufactured by Le Coultre et Cie in Switzerland from 1933 and in 1935 the production rights for the Atmos watch were transferred to Ets. Ed. Jaeger in 1935.The technical principle of the movements built by Jaeger Le Coultre from 1936 onwards is simply captivating: a mixture of a liquid and ethyl chloride gas is contained in a hermetically sealed capsule. As the temperature rises, the mixture expands, and as the temperature falls, it contracts, causing a bellows in the pressure box on the back of the watch to move like an accordion. This movement continuously winds up the movement. In the range between 15 and 30?C, a change in temperature of just one degree Celsius is enough to provide the energy for around two days of running time. (Condition: New (Other))

The Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway Wall Clock, Ca 1885
eBay The Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway thrived on the Transporting of heavy freight, primarily Pennsylvania coal, and its passenger service was characterized as "second to none".[23] The first passenger run took place on the Rochester and State Line Railroad on its 15 September 1874 run from Rochester to Le Roy. The last was on 15 October 1955, when the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad ended its Buffalo - Pittsburgh service. Although the BR&P was not a passenger line, it put a first-class effort into the passenger service that it provided the public. The locomotives used represented the best available, as did the care given these engines, leading to an enviable record for on-time completion of trips.I have a copy of a FURNITURE AND FIXTURES sheet where they show Serial numbers on all chairs ,tables, stoves, clocks Etc.....This clock has a Serial # M100, stamped on the inside backboard, and on the top behind the dial, shown in pics. The Railroads bought their clocks All the plaques and signs, maps, etc. shown, come with the clock. The one that is in a wood frame with old original wavy glass is late 1800's direct from the maker. I see a lot of wall clocks that are said to be Railroad style of clocks. If they are not owned by a Railroad, they are just a wall clock. Original true Railroad clocks are very rarely seen as this one is.The Railroad bought their clocks Direct from the maker, as this one was Seth Thomas. Then Seth Thomas does not put their label in the clock. It is papered inside with a felt like paper, and again, no labelThis Seth Thomas "World" model that is time only and will run about 23 days per wind. This one doesn't have the over wind stops, so try not to over wind.If it stops, I wind each side around 16 half turns. You'll get the hang of it.All the plaques and signs, maps, etc. shown, come with the clock. The one that is in a wood frame and back, with old original wavy glass is late 1800's If you want it fully insured, let me know so I can give the cost.I think UPS is $100 to start. On Nov-14-23 at 12:54:31 PST, seller added the following information:If thinking about this rare true RR clock. Think about the time you last saw one? For most, never. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Chelsea "The Mariner" Ship's Bell Clock Ltd Ed on Wood Base Running & Striking
eBay Chelsea "The Mariner" Ship's Bell Clock w/ Mahogany Base Limited Edition 6" Clock Face - Running & Striking Ltd Ed Repro of the 1911 Yacht Wheel Clock Item Description Beautiful Vintage Chelsea Ship's Bell Clock, the Mariner model, here for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! The pictures do not do justice to the size of this piece, it stands 17.5" tall.Nice looking marine/nautical clock here. Made by the Chelsea Clock Company in the USA. "The Mariner" model is one of the most sought out Ship's Bell clocks made by Chelsea. This is a limited edition release of this model by Chelsea. Would guess from design that the clock was made sometime in the ??? (still researching). This offering by Chelsea was only a 500 limited edition run, so very rare to find one outside of Chelsea or a fine jeweler. this clock is number 65 of 500.The original this model is based upon was first issued by Chelsea in 1911This fine Ship's Bell Clock is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a high end auction house or clock shop. We have been selling items out of our home for over 35 years. We can therefore better control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the high end auction houses and Clock Shops experience.Get this for a nice discount from what you would pay at the Chelsea store website, or a fine jeweler, which are typically offering this mode at around $6,250.This nautically inspired clock is considered one of the finest ever made in this country. A true masterpiece. Has a ship's wheel styled case that then sits on a beautiful mahogany wood base. The clock has a ship's bell mechanism which strikes 1 to 4 double bells at the 12, 4 8, & 12 hours. Then at the half hour the movement strikes the double bells for the hour and one bell strike for the half hour. The movement has an 11 jeweled movement. The movement itself is made from 364 brass and gold plated precision parts The solid brass bezel is opened by the side button latch on the left and then is hinged on the right side. Bezel is securely attached and latch working as expected. The clock's face is crafted from etched/incised brass that is hand silvered, enameled and lacquered. The Ship's Wheel ring is finished using a hand-rubbed process and then lacquered to prevent tarnish. A heavy piece here, weighs around 33lbs before packing, so expect the shipping cost to reflect that.Nice brass colored lacquered case here. Ship's wheel spindles are all in place. The brass case is all there. Very minor finish loss to the brass clock case and the wood base from use/age. No dings or dents to the metal case. The glass is intact, no cracks or blisters. There is a line of some sort of residue or glue on the right back side of the mahogany case, see pic. There is a slight scratch on the bezel by the number 1. A small blemish on the bronzed metal base above the wood bottom closer to the right side. The clock comes in the bottom part of the original case, no top, and with some of the original Chelsea paperwork. The bottom of the box shows some minor wear and tear. The clock has an 8 day mechanical brass movement. The wind springs feel sound when keyed. The clock will come with a wind key. The clock has been running and striking as expected, since we acquired it. So, the clock is being sold in running and striking condition at this juncture. Nice mahogany wood base that this clock is securely attached to. The Chelsea Ship's Bell Clock on wood stand is 17.5" tall, by 14" across, by 5.5" wide. The clock face is 6" across. A heavy piece, so expect the shipping cost to reflect that. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. This clock's movement has not been serviced by us since we acquired the clock. No guarantee the clock will be in operating condition, once shipped or delivered to you. The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description. As can be expected when dealing with a vintage clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, we would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it. Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 15% restocking fee to do so. So again, ask all questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the clock on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Don't be shy, we are always open to reasonable suggestions! This clock is just waiting for the right collector out there to acquire and refurbish for their collection. Rare Antique 18th Century Black Forest Flute Organ Musical Grandfather Clock
This listing is for a rare antique German Black Forest grandfather clock. This clock dates to the late 18th- early 19th century and was made by Jacob Ganter (signed on back of dial). The clock has a very rare 3 train movement with a musical flute pipe organ that plays on the strike. The clock is quite large, standing at 102 inches in height, 27.5 inches in width, and 17.5 inches in depth. The clock is quite gorgeous. The dial is made from wood and has a nice hand painted design. The center sections of the casing has large stained glass windows. There were probably originally wooden panels. The stained glass is quite old and was probably replaced well over 100 years ago.The pipe organ has 3 ranks of pipes. There are 17 pipes in the back, 20 in the middle, and another 17 in the front. There are wooden roller cylinders that play different tunes. 4 cylinders are includedThe pendulum and weights are included. This clock is in good condition for its age and has been well cared for. The time and (bell) strike section does work. The musical component might need some work. Bellows were nicely replaced and updated at some point. However, it needs a heavier weight than what is attached. Some of the flutes sound like they might benefit from a cleaning. The entire movement could benefit from a proper conservation due to its age. Please note that any type of mechanical clock that is moved or shipped might require adjustments upon arrival, thus time accuracy cannot be guaranteed Note: this listing is for local pickup only. If you require shipping, you may also make arrangements with 3rd party shippers such as, UShip. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Stunning William Thornhill & Co. Antique "Heathen Chinee" Clock, SEE VIDEO!!
eBay Up for sale is a rare William Thornhill & Co. of London 8 day clock from the mid to late 19th century. The case is expertly hand carved out of a stunning solid piece of oak in the form of a Chinese warrior. The movement is of French origin and an 8 day wind dating 1850's. Marked "VAP" (Velonge a Paris) indicates the craftsman was living in Paris in in the mid 1800's, trade mark 'Brevette" used by French makers such as Japy. The movement has been properly maintained, serviced and because of that, is in 100% working condition keeping time flawlessly over the course of 8 days on a single full wind. All pieces are original with nothing replaced, I just had this clock's movement fully dismantled, cleaned and oiled by one of the best clock makers in the South East United States. Antique William Thornhill Antique Clock, Rare English Clock c.1880 - YouTube Video will open in a new windowUsing the eBay App? Paste link into a browser window: [isdntekvideo] The blue willow style dial was made specifically for this clock and was not made from a plate or bowl. The dial is in good condition with minor stress cracks with mild staining where the screws are inserted caused from being over tightened at some point and a crack that runs along the bottom horizontally across the face. The dial is fully intact as the crack does not run through. The wood carved case is just visually stunning as you can see from the photos which accurately depicts its unique beauty. The height of the entire clock is approximately 14 inches tall, base measures 9 x 4 inches and the diameter of the blue willow dial is 7 inches. On the front of the base is a silver etched plaque that read, "Xmas 1880" not only dating it, but indicating the fact it was given as a Christmas gift by a wealthy individual. On the reverse of the base is a brass tag that reads "W. Thornhill & Co. 144 New Bond St.". Under the face of the dial in the warriors robes is carved "Heathen Chinee" which may be some type of commemorative to the poem by Bret Harte.Their are two repairs to the wood case one to the warrior's right hand which has been re-attached (old repair) as seen in the 10th photo provided and a piece of his right mustache which appears to be an old repair. The case and movement are both in overall just stunning condition! This is an incredible opportunity to own such a rare clock from the scarcely seen maker William Thornhill & Co. of London.William Thornill & Co. became famous for the cutlery during the 18th century as they supplied the royal family with their dining wear. Their clocks are rarely seen as their held in private collections and in the ownerships of museums. Two Thornhill & Co's clocks have been referenced to residing in the ownership of the royal family in Windsor Castle! This clock has been held in a private collection for the last 60 years and this is its first time available to the market. To my knowledge this has never been seen or published in any catalogue or reference material to date. No other similar clock has been known to be manufactured by William Thornhill & Co. and their is not a single clock that even closely resembles the craft mans ship and beauty of this rare English clock. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, thanks for looking and good luck!Thank you for visiting Henning Fine Art's online gallery here on eBay!
