New Jersey Federal Inlaid Cherry Tall Case Clock C. 1800, the case labelled by John Scudder of Westfield” [MADE] AND SOLD BY/ JOHN SCUDDER/ CABINET-MAKER,/ WESTFIELD, 90 in. high, 18 ¾ in. wide, 9 7/8 in. deep. The broken arch scroll top bonnet with inlaid rosette terminals and inlaid center plinth with three original turned finials all with a contrasting inlaid circular band around the center. The glazed door opens to a painted iron dial from the Wilson, Birmingham foundry with floral corner spandrel decoration and a moving moon dial with a country scene, sailing ship, and two moon faces.

Features a square agate frame with incuse corners and engine turned center, fancy scroll hands, cobalt enamel and gold laurel border. Stamped and engraved with serial number547 on the gold handle as seen in "European Watch & Clock Co. Inc France;" signed "Cartier" on clock face. Please look at pictures for condition. I don’t have any paperwork included with this clock. The key for winding the clock is not the original but is the right size which is a 1.65mm key that works perfectly to wind and set the time. DescriptionThis grandfather clock was manufactured by the Colonial Clock Co. in Zeeland, MI. It is from their Henry Ford Collection. It is Design No. 5060 and Serial No. 20 The full name on the clock face is "Tho's Jackson Preston". It is working and in original/excellent con-dition.The Henry Ford Museum Reproduction Program was the first of its kind to faithfully produce important, historic tall case clocks beginning in the early 1930's.This clock is a reproduction of one made by Thomas Jackson in Preston, Connecticut, circa 1760-1770.Made of choice tiger maple, the hood is embellished with whales' tail motif and has three finials resting on fluted plinths. The beautifully proportioned case also features a scalloped waste and intricately cut out baseboard.
