An extraordinary & extremely rare Austrian Biedermeier style music box mantle/table clock High quality Austrian solid brass plate 30 hour wind two train silk thread suspension movement (movement restored) with integral linkage to concealed music box at base (music box restored); 2 Austrian melodies alternate each hour, triggered after hour strike (photo of chain link running from the base of the upper clock case thru bottom clock base); music box combs 100% complete; clock movement, music box & all linkage relating to the operation are fully restored;4 ¾” round porcelain face with Roman numerals (minor porcelain loss at the winding arbors); hinged metal door frame has convex glass & hooks at other end (glass chip near hinge); chimes on a steel coil gong located within the upper clock case; gong, music box & movement assemblies are mounted securely to case Masterfully made with wonderful imagination to draw the eye to 3 small pictures of famous Austrian sites; 2 decoratively carved gilded wooden columns have recessed alabaster stone accents; fluted wooden areas decorate both the clock case base& each column capitol area; carved wood 2 stage stepped crown create the clock case topper also decorated with 2 small alabaster urns, 2 small mirror areas (1mirror is a replacement); thin decorative gilded metal scroll pieces are also used; the round wooden clock case is supported in the center with a carved& gilded ornate frieze which is mounted to the clock case base; pendulum isa round lace pattern cut from thin metal & gilded. Both clock and music box are accessed from wood rear doors held in place with thumb latches. Chiming correctly &running on time. Three separate winding keys are included; 1key to wind music box, 1 key to wind clock and 1 key to adjust the FAST/SLOW gear APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS: height 24 ½” x width 14 ½” x depth 5 ½”I am an antique clock collector wishing to reduce my clock collection.I am NOT a retailer.This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties. It has been tested prior to this offering. Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling (sometimes with rotating the movement while in the clock case). Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well. Do not over wind a clock. Lastly, I cannot not guarantee the clock’s operation once shipped. I do take pride as a seller and buyer of these clocks.All shipments will be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap (key and pendulum wrapped separately) set tightly into box containing Styrofoam peanuts, tapped shut & then placed into a second shipping box filled with padding for added protection, taped shut on all sides.Please ask any questions regarding this item; responses will be made as quickly as possible.No international shipping.
