eBay Description:An Aurora clock designed by American designers Al Corchia (born 1935) and Rudolph De Harak (1924-2002) for Kirsch Hamilton This metal clock features a cylindrical design with an acrylic face on the light. A small black switch is on the back of the clock and a manufacturer sticker is attached to the underside. The Aurora clock design was based on Jordan Kirsch's (of Kirsch Hamilton) patent for a clock that used bi-refractive lenses. Kirsch-Hamilton hired Al Corchia and Rudolph De Harak, who had a design firm together, for the job, with the Aurora clock design being sold from the 1970s-90s. The design is in the permanent collection of MoMA. x 8” x 5” Condition:Scratches scuffs, and other wear present. The clock ran when tested. The back plate cover is attached with magnetic fasteners and it appears that one might be missing. There is a small dent on the back edge of the clock. Face: Circular white surrounded by gilt brass markers, Arabic numerals, hour and minute hand. Clock Case: Rectangular glass case with gilt brass canted frame that lifts off from the base with feet. Plate on bottom of case has an inscription as to the recipient of this clock in 1962. Serial Number: 148569 (For this serial number online reference states models 526-6, 528 years 1960-1980 - Clock gifted in 1962) The atmosphere causes the clock to wind automatically without human intervention ie perpetual motion. Set Up: Set up instructions enclosed that I received from A Gunlap Horologist who serviced this clock in 2-2021. 1900 Chelsea Ship Bell Antique Clock Boston Heavy Brass Tambour Case Running!
This auction is for a large eighteen inch wide 20 pound Chelsea ships' bell clock with the dial reading Jordan Marsh Co. Boston. This is an estate clock selling just as found. The clock runs well and keeps good time. The clock sounds with a double chime (ding ding). At the twelfth hour the clock strikes four times with the double chime. The case has an aged patina as seen. Note the glass which would cover the dial is missing. The original tiny screws and fasteners which would secure the glass in place are included. Antique Ansonia Mantle Clock Jordan Model Not Working for Repair or Parts From about 1901 Not Working. Wind Up Mantle Clock. Brass Movement is marked “Ansonia Clock Company USA” and “New York” and “Patented June 18, 1882” and “8 ¾”. Has what appears to be the original alarm mechanism with bell and the original gong which is diamond shaped with an “A” on it. The pendulum may or may not be original, but appears to be so. The key is not original. Case is in good condition with no major cracks or breaks. The front glass is missing
