Sterling Silver Travel Clock, Barometer, Thermometer Mappin & Webb London 1911Traveling Silver Clock, Barometer and Thermometer made in London in 1911. The Folding case and plate are fully hallmarked. The 8 day mechanical clock and the aneroid barometer containing the thermometer are Swiss made, both are mounted on a silver hinged plate. The hallmarks are the Lion passant, the Leopard (London), a small q for 1911 and the the makers' mark for Mappin & Webb. Jonathan Mappin opened his first silversmith workshop in Sheffield in 1774. In 1849 the first store in London opened. In 1858 John Mappin invited his brother-in-law, George Webb to join him thus creating the company of Mappin and Webb. Up for your consideration is a fine French Empire gilt bronze clock of the finest quality, movement made by Japy Freres, c. 1849 - 1852. It measures 21” tall, 11.5" wide, and about 4” deep, has pendulum, key, chimes, working, missing glass cover for clock. Clock is very heavy.  Packaging will accommodate a safe delivery great condition. The case with relatively even patina. Clock currently runs well when wound and chimes on the hour and half hour. Antique New Haven/ Litchfield NAVY model clock -1853 Antique New Haven/ Litchfield NAVY model clock -1853 Click images to enlarge Description This NAVY model wall clock was first introduced around 1849 by the Jerome Clock Company which features a beautiful paper mache by The Litchfield Mfg. Co. Litchfield, Ct. This version is marked New Haven and most likely dates to 1853 when the the company names changed to New Haven. This clock has received a complete professional restoration. The time and strike lever escapement movement was addressed by certified clock maker and the worked included, hand rolled springs to achieve the correct tension, cleaning, pivot polishing, bushings as needed. assembly and adjustments. A certified conservationist addressed the case by securing the joints, cleaning pained surface and in painting where needed. Note the use of Mother of Pearl to high lite the images. The dial is obviously original with the wear commensurate with the age. These are very scarce clocks as I have only seen 3 in 50+ years of collecting. eBay Antique 19c French Style Bronze Mantle Clock Garniture Set W/Griffins. This clock is stunning with amazing detail with Griffins on the clock and candelabras. The bronze on the clock and one of the candelabras are brown patina and the other candelabra has been polished this is how I acquired it. The movement is not working and needs to be repaired or replaced so being sold “As Is”. This set is extremely heavy and well made. Has the date 1849 on the movement and the outside back rim of the opening. This also comes with the original pendulum. Very recent attic find: E.N. WELCH victorian wall clock, unusal small size. Made by Elisha Niles Welch. This is a rare find only one found on Antique price guide sold in 2005 for $1849. This clock needs love and care, the walnut case looks beautiul, needs cleaning , small crack in case by upper door hinge, needs bottom finial. brass movement stamped E N Welch,USA. Screw holes look to be original. Movement wants to run for several minutes needs serviced. see picture for hands, dial pan , pendulum. case measures approx 29.5 long, 7.5 wide in middle and 4 inches deep. With attention this could be restored to a beautiful and rare clock. If you’re looking for a clock to restore this would be a great addition to a collection. Chauncey Boardman Clock (1849). Condition is Used.<br />It has what I believe is the original weights and key in order for clock operation. I do not know if this clock would still work, I believe it will with a little restoration work. Overall in decent condition with minor blemishes and wood chipping. Lite mold spots on front of the door. And the sailboat glass painting has a few chips of paint missing.
