Frodsham Fusee Gallery Wall Clock. Probably made 1820 - 1840. Dates and clocksmith signatures written on the backside of the clock face (see pics). This clock is not running.John Frodsham (1781 1849)Biography of clockmaker, watchmaker and chronometer maker John Frodsham (1781-1849)John Frodsham (1781-1849) was born 1781 and is recorded as working as a watch, clock and chronometer maker at 33 Gracechurch Street in London, moving there in 1825 having taken over the firm following the death of his father William Frodsham (1755-1805) in 1805 and his grandfather, also William Frodsham (1728-1807), in 1807.Frodsham was made a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers in 1830 with the firm becoming Frodsham & Sons between 1835 and his death in 1849, the sons being Henry John Frodsham, who was apprenticed to him, and George Edward Frodsham who was John Frodsham's successor.
