Antique French King Louis XIV Brass Lantern Clock By Lefebvre Circa 1720-1760
This antique French lantern clock, crafted by Lefebvre in the style of King Louis XIV and with the Brass Crest of the same is a stunning piece of history. Its brass frame, hand painted ceramic roman numerals and iron details make for a striking design that is sure to impress any collector of decorative clocks. Approximated 8-day movement. The inner workings of this clock is are functional but it will need restoration. We plan to fully restore with an antique clock-smith in the PNW if it doesn’t sell as is. Dating back to 1720-1760 likely near 1740, it is a true testament to the craftsmanship of the time. DescriptionThis grandfather clock was manufactured by the Colonial Clock Co. in Zeeland, MI. It is from their Henry Ford Collection. It is Design No. 5060 and Serial No. 20 The full name on the clock face is "Tho's Jackson Preston". It is working and in original/excellent con-dition.The Henry Ford Museum Reproduction Program was the first of its kind to faithfully produce important, historic tall case clocks beginning in the early 1930's.This clock is a reproduction of one made by Thomas Jackson in Preston, Connecticut, circa 1760-1770.Made of choice tiger maple, the hood is embellished with whales' tail motif and has three finials resting on fluted plinths. The beautifully proportioned case also features a scalloped waste and intricately cut out baseboard. The solid brass face features delicate scroll work and has a fully functional second hand.This clock has an eight-day movement with Westminster chimes, chiming on the quarter hour.Amazing condition considering its age. The Corrall family were famous Lutterworth clock makers in the 18th and 19th centuries. VINTAGE MATTHEW NORMAN Brass 8 DAY MINIATURE OVAL CARRIAGE CLOCK 11 jewels Swiss. Condition is Used. <br />Brass measuring 3 1/4” high by 2.5” wide. Brass is in great shape with very little wear. There may be a few small scuffs at the bottom on the back. Glass looks nice. I purchased this without keys and have never tried to wind it. NO keys are included but can probably be purchased inexpensively. Please look at the pics and ask any questions prior to bidding. <br />Marked Swiss movement and 11 jewels and 1760 on the other side. 18th Century 1760 English Longcase Movement Grandfather Clock Quarman Temple
This is a fantastic 18th Century circa 1760 English Longcase Movement. The clock has a receipt of sale for 1946 which is included. Movement is complete with original dial bell and hands but does need a pendulum and weight. The movement ticks when small amount of weight is applied. Samuel Quarman worked at Temple Cloud between 1760 and 1780 and is listed in Baillie Clock and Watchmakers of the world. A fine example and a very nice clock to use for an existing cabinet or to keep as it is.
