eBay Antique Kienzle Mantel Clock Runs, Strikes, & Chimes #39628 Beautiful Wood Case Westminster Chimes Item Description Here is a great Antique German Bracket Clock, made by Kienzle for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! This fine Antique Mantel Clock is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a high end auction house or clock shop. We have been selling clocks out of our home for over 35 years. We are therefore better positioned to control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the high end auction houses and clock shops experience. Beautiful German wood case clock here. The maker is Kienzle of Germany. The clock's back plate of the movement has the wheel with wings on the back bottom middle of the brass movement. The trademark is also captured on the top back of the clock case. This clock dates to the early 1900s. The wood case is all there. Shows some minor finish loss most notably along the corner edges, still looks good. Nice columns on front corners. Great curved top on the clock case. Beveled glass in the front wood door, no cracks or blistering. The four wood wafer legs are in place and look original to the clock.Nice detailing to the wood case on the front, sides and especially the top of it. Has a reddish brown stain to it. The rear door is securely attached to the case. We have only wiped down the wood case with Murphy's wood cleaner and orange oil, could still used a good cleaning to bring the original beauty of this piece out to its' full potential.Nice looking face on this clock. Silver colored ring with black numbering, some minor finish loss. Says, made in Germany at the bottom middle of the clock face. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The hands to turn the chime on and off works as does the time adjustment component. Both of the adjustment hands are in place.Great looking 8 day brass movement on this clock. Has 18cm/158 and Patented in All Countries incised on the back plate of the movement.This clock has been running, striking and chiming since we acquired it. The movement has not been cleaned by us and could use a good cleaning sometime in the future. The pendulum and bob are with the clock. The strike hammer and 4 rod strike unit are in place and the strike unit operates when the clock is running. Does the Westminster Chimes on the quarter hours and then the chime and strikes the number of hours at the top of the hour. So, selling this clock in running, striking and chiming condition at this juncture. No guarantee it will be once shipped to you. The clock will come with a wind key. This was definitely a quality clock for its' time. The rear door is still firmly attached to the case. The latch on the rear door is still there and operates. The hinges look appropriate on the front and rear doors.The clock stands 17-9/16" tall, by 12-5/8" across, by 8.25" wide. The clock face is 5" across. This is a very heavy clock, so expect the shipping costs to reflect that. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
