Ca. 1870's Austrian 2 Weight T&S Burl Walnut Wall Regulator
Ca. 1870's Austrian 2 Weight T&S Burl Walnut Wall Regulator
SOLD $1,500.00 Sold: Mar 9, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Beautiful 8 Day 2 Weight (Time & Gong Strike) Burled Walnut Austrian ( Vienna) Regulator in very good cosmetic and running cond. Functions as it should and keeps very good time. Not to mention the appearance is amazing as the pics will show. I've taken quite a few pics under different lighting conditions so you can get an idea of how nice this really is. The only faults I can find are that one weight hook has been replace along with the bottom cap on the weight. The wall leveling brackets on the bottom sides are there but the leveling screws are not.Everything else looks original right down to the door glass which is old and wavey. I usually do not but this type of clock but in this case I had to as it is just an amazing looking piece. One of the best looking I've seen.I will add a pic. of the Movement later as I didn't want the cables to spring up and tangle when I remove it for pics.Mechanism is in very good cond. but is not all polished up so if desired I'll leave that up to the buyer to do. No need other than personal preference. This is a very large Regulator as it's 54"tall (4 1/2 feet) x 19"wide x 7 1/2" deep. It's unusual to find one of theses with all the case components intact in good condition as well. Looks to be the original finish with darker ares looking like dark stain rather than ebonized. I guess I'll let the pics speak for it from here but any questions please feel free to ask. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
Note: This item has been sold and is no longer available. This page serves as a historical price reference for clocks collectors and appraisers.
