MASTER CLOCK ( I B M ) ART DECO STYLE
I B M MASTER CLOCK In very good condition ,runs and keeps time to 10 seconds per month but can be adjusted more accrete if kept at constant temp. This clock is power wound and weight driven only! The Art Deco case measures 63" X 18.5 X 7 5/8 . The solid brass pendulum weighs 12 LBS with 4' chrome rod. The drive weights are 10.5 LBS each. Vintage Mantel Clocks Mantel clocks were first made in France and were typically placed above the fireplace alongside vases or sculptural figurines. Vintage mantel clocks, especially those made during the Art Deco period and mid-century, are valued today for their simple yet elegant geometric designs. Antique Cuckoo Clocks Cuckoo clocks were first made during the 18th century in the Black Forest region of southwestern Germany, although they also have a long history in Switzerland and Austria. These clocks are of course famous for the automaton cuckoo bird that moves in tandem with musical notes each time the clock strikes the hour. Also called long-case, tall-case clocks, and floor clocks, grandfather clocks are freestanding, weight-driven pendulum clocks, often outfitted with elaborate ornamentation, especially on the hood of the case. Invented by the English clockmaker William Clement in 1670, the grandfather clock quickly became popular across Europe and assumed a variety of forms. RARE, 1950's Vintage Art Deco Sessions Marilyn Monroe Wooden Shelf/Mantel Clock, works GREAT nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Measures approximately 11" H x 9" L x 3" W. Has a glass domed case over the gold tone clockwork face which measures 4" in diameter. A brass Marilyn Monroe graces the top of the arched clock and measures 4 1'2" H x 6 1/2" L. I believe the electrical cord might have been replaced as it is white and appears to be brown in the original. Scuffs, nicks, scratches and a small crack are on the wood, commensurate with the vintage age of this clock. See photo #11 f
