The hinge nails are modern replacements and I have had the best luck shipping these with the door off. Antique Pillar & Scroll Shelf Clock c. 1830
A good running P&S with old finish, glass, and tablet. The dial has well done touchups where the paint flaked off horizontally (common) and the finals are replacements. The label has loss so no name is visible but the eagle and "Patent Clocks" are visible and those are typical of Eli Terry Clocks so my guess is it's a Terry. Samuel and Eli Terry Pillar and Scroll Shelf Clock, Circa 1820s, Beautiful!
This is a gorgeous circa 1820-30 pillar and scroll clock made in Connecticut by Samuel and Eli Terry..It is complete except for one of the weights (the previous owner is searching for it) and even without the weight it will run and keep time for a couple of minutes, so I believe that when properly set up it will be a gem of a running clock. The winding keys and pendulum seem original. and the only flaw I noticed was somewhat by accident when seeing the dust indise as I took the picture I noticed something in the lower corner of the glass, beneath the little sailboat. It appears to have had a crack in the glass professionally repaired, and when I looked it before buying I couldn't even see it. I took several pictures of the exact place where it is, but it is almost impossible to see. There are no obvious repairs to the piece except for what looks like an attempt to strengthen the back where the works are mounted with a piece of mahogany plywood. All in all this is a fine example of a famous makers signature clock. I will give the utmost attention to packaging this lovely clock, and please read my feedback regarding that. The weight and finials may arrive in a separate box. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Seth Thomas pillar & scroll. Around 1826 was when Eli Terry was bringing a Patent suit against Seth Thomas. Seth Thomas P&S Later Labels had "PATENT CLOCKS" on top of the label. For a clock getting close to 200 years old looks to have had great care.

eBay The Eli Terry style clock by Elmer O Stenner is about 30 inches high, 17-1/4 wide and 4-7/16 deep. It comes with the original signed receipt dated 1961 and signed by Elmer O Stenner. It has a nice reverse painting. The wind up and door key along with the pendulum will be in the clock. I am also including Elmers history. He killed his wife and was later murdered. The clock has been running and is in good condition, but the feet were damage and have been repaired. Please check all photos carefully as I am selling the clock as shown, described and as is. Antique 19th Century 1830's Eli Terry & Son Scroll & Pillar Clock
eBay I have for sale an antique Eli Terry & Sons pillar and scroll clock.The clock is in very good condition cosmetically and looks to have had some restoration work down by The Clock Doctor. There is a tag on the inside of the door. The top glass over the face is 19th century period glass.Date: 1830's reverse painting features a little cottage with another one in the background. A couple of the brass finials will need new wood plugs. The one on the right is missing and the center one has a painted red plug. It is a little too thin and short, which causes it to wiggle on the top. The clock comes with the pendulum, cabinet key, and clock key. I do not have the weights to test it. They must have gotten misplaced and were not offered with the clock. Also, it looks like the right side needs a new weight string as well. Given the condition and restoration I would assume it is in good working order, but it will need a set of weights.Size: 29" (Height without Brass Finials) 16 1/2" (Width) 4 3/4" (Depth)I have provided nearly (150) photos below to give you an extremely thorough view of the clock.Thank You (Condition: Pre-Owned)

SETH THOMAS PILLAR AND SCROLL CLOCK - circa 1820
SETH THOMAS PILLAR AND SCROLL CLOCK - circa 1820's CASE: Beautiful mahogany original clock case presented in good restored condition. Great clean color to the case. The scroll top and feet are both all original. The scroll top has had both tips nicely repaired. The original apron and feet are in very good condition. Great label on backboard is mostly there. Lower reverse painted glass is very old and possibly a professional restoration, the upper glass looks newer. It has an old dial/face that's beautiful and unique but has some wood damage around the main arbor with little paint loss elsewhere but still looks great. The strings for the weights look newer. It has one of the two original tin dust caps to cover the pulleys. It has the original metal movement plate on the back. The front door locks with a Terry style key that is provided. The clock comes with the old winding key to wind the clock.FINALS: Nice old solid brass ST reproduction finials with good patina, two of finials have good detail and thick brass dowels, one finial has a thinner dowel. The set of three all have similar & normal age and wear.MOVEMENT: It's a Eli Terry/Seth Thomas 30 hour wood works short drop movement in good shape. All teeth and gears look good with no missing/broken parts, and with some pressure the gears move. Movement runs for a short time of 10-15 seconds and stops so needs adjustment to run longer. Manually moving the hour hand it strikes the cast iron bell on the hour properly. This clock was used mainly for display the last couple years. It has a suspension spring and old pendulum bob.
