He lived long and active life and died in Salem, Massachusetts on May 17, 1853.Edmund manufactured and repaired tools, wagons, sleighs and harness. He was also a fine clockmaker and repaired some watches. A small number of clocks are listed as being made in this New Hampshire location. Elmer O Stennes Girandole Banjo PRISON Clock M.C.I.P. - RARE
eBay Another spectacular clock from my dear friend who purchased it himself at an NAWCC show in 1970. This clock has been mounted on his wall since he bought it and is in excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically. I gave it a wind a few hours ago and it is keeping time. As you can see, the case and everything about it is absolutely beautiful with no blemishes at all to report. As most of you know who are looking at this clock, the guy who made it , actually made it in prison after being convicted for murdering his wife and ironically, was later murdered himself. Elmer Sennes did mark the clock with the letters M.C.I.P. (Massachusetts Correctional Institution Plymouth), which he did so on all the clocks he made in prison. Clock measures 44.5" tall. You will need to take care of the shipping however I will gladly drop it off at the local UPS or other for you to save you on the pickup fees. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

FANTASTIC CLOCK signed ELMER STENNES BANJO CLOCK, EXPERIMENTAL #1, M.C.I.P 14
This is one of the finest signed Elmer Stennes banjo clocks you will find anywhere. On the rim where you open the bottom door it is stamped M.C.I.P. which stands for Massachusetts Correctional Institute & Penitentiary and it is also stamped #14 on the rim. On the glass tablet of the front door it says Experimental No.1 so im not positive but this most likely is the first banjo clock Stennes made in jail while serving his prison sentence . The brass movement is marked E.Stennes No.5, the lead clock weight is also stamped Stennes. The case is an extremely clean original finish inlaid

eBay E. Howard & Co. "No. 1 Regulator" Banjo Clock late 19th Century.The clock has a rosewood case with grain painted frames, 8-day weight-driven movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power. The movement and dial are signed "E. Howard & Co., Boston," weight marked "I" 50 x 20 × 6 inches approximately. Weight, dial and hands all look original. Has the seconds bit , most likely look like a replacement. If your an E. Howard collector you will want this one for your collection. Condition:The case does retain the original finish on the case and lower frame. The throat frame looks to have been refinished, the dial most likely has been repainted, tablets with in-painting touch up , glass looks original or period replacement. The clock functions for test from 1 day to 3 days. However the rating nut on the pendulum rod needs attention and at some point it will need a new suspension spring. Neither repairs are very difficult. Selling as is , no warranty. No key. Weight looks original as does the upper glass , case is solid. Pick up is best , it is a big clock. Will also consider trades. Rare Antique Aaron Willard Weight Driven Banjo Wall Clock
This listing is for a rare early Massachusetts banjo clock.The clock is quite gorgeous with its wooden case, brass detailing, and painted glassThe clock has an 8 day weight driven time only movement The dial is signed “Aaron Willard Boston.”The middle glass says “Willard’s patent.”This clock appears to be in overall good condition and has been well cared for.The movement was last serviced in 2019. It ran and when recently tested. Though this clock is in overall good shape, there are some signs of normal wear and age. The dial for one appears to have been retouched several times. The signature was amateurly darkened with dark ink. The word “BOSTON” should be capitalized. However, the “TON” is lower case- probably someone’s when filling in the area of paint loss. These details can be seen in the photos with ultraviolet light.The lower pediment also appears to be a later addition as it is newer looking wood. The clock most likely would not have had the pediment originally. Signed on dial. Marked with the number 49 inside, George Washington reverse-painted on the glass throat and Mount Vernon reverse-painted on the glass door. He was self-taught as a cabinetmaker, and received a certificate for completing a one-year course in Carpentry and Architectural Drawing, from Wentworth Institute in Boston in 1934.
