eBay E. Howard & Co. "No. 1 Regulator" Banjo Clock late 19th Century.The clock has a rosewood case with grain painted frames, 8-day weight-driven movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power. The movement and dial are signed "E. Howard & Co., Boston," weight marked "I" 50 x 20 × 6 inches approximately. Weight, dial and hands all look original. Has the seconds bit , most likely look like a replacement. If your an E. Howard collector you will want this one for your collection. Condition:The case does retain the original finish on the case and lower frame. The throat frame looks to have been refinished, the dial most likely has been repainted, tablets with in-painting touch up , glass looks original or period replacement. The clock functions for test from 1 day to 3 days. However the rating nut on the pendulum rod needs attention and at some point it will need a new suspension spring. Neither repairs are very difficult. Selling as is , no warranty. No key. Weight looks original as does the upper glass , case is solid. Pick up is best , it is a big clock. Will also consider trades. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
