New Jersey Federal Inlaid Cherry Tall Case Clock C. 1800, the case labelled by John Scudder of Westfield” [MADE] AND SOLD BY/ JOHN SCUDDER/ CABINET-MAKER,/ WESTFIELD, 90 in. high, 18 ¾ in. wide, 9 7/8 in. deep. The broken arch scroll top bonnet with inlaid rosette terminals and inlaid center plinth with three original turned finials all with a contrasting inlaid circular band around the center. The glazed door opens to a painted iron dial from the Wilson, Birmingham foundry with floral corner spandrel decoration and a moving moon dial with a country scene, sailing ship, and two moon faces.

The most collectable of Master clocks, this is the reliable, still working International Time Recording Company clockwith the General Electric 120 AC volt rewind mechanism that rewinds TWO 15 pound weights every three days or so. For powering slave clocks an additional power source (generally 24 volts)is neededCirca 1920's. Extra heavy duty high quality movement with motor and iron bracket. Happily working in my office for many years. This clock has an additional set of gears to start up an electrically powered carillon movement in a Connecticut church. I got it from the contractor who renovated the church decades ago. I am its only owner.It keeps time perfectly and rewinds as it needs. Aaron Willard Massachusetts's Shelf Clock (Reproduction) By Adolph Amend jr.
eBay Aaron Willard 8 day weight driven (Reproduction) Mass. Shelf Clock by Adolph Amend jr. ca 1968 . This is an exact reproduction of an early Aaron Willard shelf clock in mahogany .Signed and numbered # 5 of 6 made by a group of fine craftsman re ; Adolph Amend jr. (Movement) , George Bizlewicz ( Case) and Lucille Graff ( Glass Painter) . They took great care to measure and record all specifics to duplicate this right down to the last detail. This piece was on of the very first group ( 5 of 6)the Mr. Amend ever made as he went on from these to make many more styles . I've included some paper work I received when I bought this and it is very informative as to how he made this but also helps to authenticate this one or the other 5 as well. It doesn't look new nor 55 for that matter as they managed to make it look the way it should. Select figured mahogany case and the dial isn't stark white as they put a finish on it that looks appropriate for a clean antique dial. It looks much better in person but I've taken a lot of pics in different light to give you an idea of how nice it is.Of course it runs fine and keeps very good time. Delaney Antique Clocks in Townsend ,Ma. had a very fine example of of a Simon Willard Grafton wall clock by Amend and as they only sell the finest antique clocks that says a lot for the quality of his work.This is a part of their knowledge about this maker "Adolf Amend lived and worked in several New Jersey and Connecticut locations. He was a graduate of the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He was a skilled machinist and applied for patents related to clockwork. From 1939-1951 he was employed by the General Time Corporation in NYC. He then became a member of the Englewood School for Boys until 1975, when he retired to Sherman, CT. During retirement, he volunteered at the Kent School in Kent, CT. He was an early Nation Association of Watch and Clock Collectors member and frequently contributed to the Bulletin. In 1967, he became interested in making authentic copies of several Willard clock movements. His first six clocks were copies of an Aaron Willard shelf clock movement. Later, he also made at least two skeleton clock movements with duplex escapement, and a tall clock is reported. He also made a copy of Simon Willard's Grafton wall clock."Dims are; 35 Inches tall x 13 1/4 inches wide x 6 3/8 ths deep.I do not have a crank key for this but can be bought rather easily .( American # 6 or #7 ) I usually don't buy reproductions but when they are this nice and of this quality, all day long. Vintage Antique Hexagonal 2 Tube Neon Clock -- EXCELLENT CONDITION
You are buying a vintage hexagonal neon clock with two tubes in perfect operational condition.This vintage neon clock has been hanging in our kitchen since 2005, when I put it up. It keeps perfect time and lights brightly with no buzzing. The time set knob works and there is a pull-chain switch to turn the neon on or off.I can't find a makers mark on the front of this clock, but from the shape and style I think it might have been made by the Neon Display Company of New Jersey, sometime in the 1930's or 1940's.I'm sorry not to be able show photos of the back, insides, etc., but I can't get this clock down to take such pictures (see below). BTW: The small green ring seen on the face of the clock in the second photo is a reflection from another neon clock. You may arrange to see this clock in person if you contact me through eBay.I will be reducing the price of this rare clock each week until it sells. Best grab it before someone else does.Shipping neon is impractical due to its fragility, especially for a clock like this one which is large and heavy with an exposed neon tube around the outside. There are no shipping services that will insure neon, and many won't even accept it. The clock was recently acquired from an estate. "474" is stamped underneath the base. The clock stands approximately 7 1/2" high and is attached to a 3 7/8" x 1 7/8" rectangular base. It is marked "16 jewels unadjusted". A 24-hour test revealed that the mechanism ran 2-3 minutes fast during that time. The clock has not been cleaned, opened or adjusted. All of the screws are intact. There is no presentation plate or engraving. There are some scratches underneath the base between the two large screws (as shown in the last photo). I am not a clock expert but I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Please Note: Inventory tag(s) are attached to all items before shipping. The tags must remain in place in the event the item is returned for a refund. Please contact us if you are purchasing multiple items. eBay This fine example was made circa 1880. The case measures approximately 32 inches long overall. The Model 70 was successfully sold. It was used extensively in the Boston Public School System, in the various Boroughs of Greater New York, and many other places as the Standard School Clock. The United States Government specified it as the "Standard for all Public Buildings." One would also see this model in many of the Nations railroad stations. Some of which included: The Elevated Railroad Stations of New York City, The Pennsylvania Railroad Company, The Central Railroad of New Jersey, West Shore Railroad of Boston & Albany, and nearly all Railroad Companies throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Edward Howard of Boston, Massachusetts The E. Howard & Company succeeded the Howard & Davis firm in 1857. The Howard & Davis firm was comprised of Edward Howard and David Porter Davis and was established in 1842 in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Both men had just completed their clock apprenticeship under the guidance of Aaron Willard Jr in Boston. The Howard & Davis firm made high-grade clocks, precision balances, sewing machines, fire engines, and watches. After the dissolution of Howard & Davis, Edward Howard became Boston's leading manufacturer of weight-driven residential and commercial clocks. The firm also made a large number of tower clocks and watchman and salve clock systems. These sold well in the last quarter of the 1800s.It has been said that the E. Howard Clock company never made an inexpensive clock, and everything they made was of very good quality. As a result, Howard clocks have become very collectible and are prized by their owners. Today, the E.
