Scarce "Exciting Hour" Jefferson Mystery Clock - Immaculate; Runs-Keeps Time
eBay For visual condition, please review the included 20 high-resolution photos of the clock included in this listing.This Jefferson Electric "Exciting Hour" mystery clock is the scarce brushed chrome Cobalt Blue Numerals cousin of the more ubiquitous and yet still fascinating "Golden Hour" mystery clock. While company statistics are apparently unavailable, from our experience you will see this Exciting Hour model about once for every 75-100 times you've seen the "Golden Hour." Finding an "Exciting Hour" in good or great condition -- such as the one for sale in this listing -- is exceedingly, exceedingly rare, as most times the finish may be pitted and/or flaked, the cord and/or bottom plate may not be original, the Cobalt Blue numeration may have deteriorated, the glass may have cracked or come loose from the drive gear, etc. The one for sale here is easily the best we've ever held in our hands. This clock runs and keeps time. Both the cord and bottom plate are correct originals. This clock was assembled on September 9, 1960 (see photo of date inside clock case). There is a hand-marked notation inside the clock case in something like orange crayon; we aren't sure of its meaning, but oftentimes when a clock is repaired the servicer will notate the insdie or bottom of the case in some way. We see no other comparable example of this extremely rare clock on the market. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Jefferson EXCITING HOUR Mystery Clock Brushed Chrome Finish Very Rare For Repair
Jefferson EXCITING HOUR Mystery Clock Brushed Chrome Finish. Very Rare. When plugged in I can hear a hum but the hands are not moving. It is not keeping time. This click is being sold For Repair and restoration. It has not been polished or cleaned in any way.The Exciting Hour is almost identical to the Golden Hour but has a brushed chrome finish. This model appears to have been made for only a short time and in a much smaller quantity than the Golden Hour. Dimensions are 8-7/8" high and the outside diameter of the dial is 7-7/16". Depth is 4-1/2". Weight is 2.3 lbs. The glass is 3/32" thick. The outer ring is made of a cast zinc alloy, the same as that used in the Golden Hour. See my page showing a cross section and a metal analysis. It is plated with chromium and has a brushed satin finish. The retainer ring on the back of the clock is steel and plated with chrome. The glass is mounted in a steel, nickel plated ring gear. It is single strength select grade glass and is 3/32" thick. Replacement glass instructions are available including the purchase of shatter resistant acrylic instead of glass.See pictures for visual ID and Condition. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Jefferson GOLDEN MINUTE Mystery Clock w/RARE GOLD CHAPTER RING; Runs-Keeps Time

This Jefferson Electric "Golden Minute" mystery clock is uncommon compared to the ubiquitous and yet still fascinating "Golden Hour" mystery clock. This one is even more special, as the common brushed-chrome Chapter Ring (number dial) was instead factory optioned to the VERY RARE 24-KARAT GOLD-FINISHED RING. Finding a "Golden Minute" in good or excellent condition -- such as the one for sale in this listing -- is rare, as far, far fewer were made/sold than the Golden Hours, the cord and/or hand-set is often not original, the Luminous numeration may have deteriorated, the glass may have cracked or come loose from the drive gear, etc. The one for sale here is quite a nice example. This clock runs and keeps time. Both the cord and bottom plate are correct originals. Beware: after-market alterations of the luminous chapter ring of the Golden Minute have been made by persons who remove the original chrome chapter ring and then color it gold or plate it themselves. A+ Jefferson Golden Hour Clock w/Unique Holiday Gift Box & 8-page Owner's manual
This gorgeous Jefferson Electric Golden Hour Clock is unique in at least 3 ways: (1) it comes in the only Golden Hour Clock Holiday Gift Box this seller has ever seen in person, despite having seen hundreds of Golden Hour Clocks; and (2) While it is "Used," obviously, being 68 years old (dated inside by Jefferson Electric as May 14, 1956), it bears so little signs of use that we call it "Used" only because we have to; and (3) It includes the ORIGINAL Jefferson Electric 8-page Owner's Manual for the Golden Hour Clock (Not a copy or reprint, not pdfs!). The rare Holiday Box is also quite nice, given that it consists of gold-colored cardboard that is also obviously 68 years old. This Golden Hour Clock, with the box and beautiful original condition of the clock itself, is surely the pinnacle piece for collectors of the Golden Hour. The more common black and white box is itself quite sought after by collectors, but it pales in rarity compared to this box. Even the stamp from National Plating Company still clearly shows itself in the interior of the clock case. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

eBay Here we have an art deco Etalage Reclame Corp mystery electric chrome mantel clock, with see through dial and floating hands, selling as found for parts / repairs / restoration. Clock is non running, possibly motor needs to be repaired / replaced. Cool looking clock when working. It measures 9 5/8" high by 5 1/2' by 2 3/4" deep at the base. Scarce JEFFERSON GOLDEN VIEW MYSTERY CLOCK Mid Century Modern MCM 1956 RUNNING!!
Here is a scarce Jefferson Golden View Mystery Clock in wonderful condition , working steadily when tested. The Golden View clock was first introduced in 1956 and is much more difficult to find than the relatively common Golden Hour version. This example is in remarkable condition for its age and its 24 its gold plated hand assembly and retaining rings still show a beautiful luster. The mahogany base has a gold anodized aluminum beading encirclement and retains its original finish with one small as blemish pictured . Bottom has original cover plate and felt pads. The 6" dial has a black engraved chapter ring with gold numerals at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock with markers for the other hours. The gold plated brass hands actually have radium paint in the center, of course harmless now. Just a wonderful clock from the mid twentieth century in working order, but not tested for accuracy.
