Vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Clock 540 SWISS 24K gold plated bronze frame NOSFrom my late fathers estate. He got this as a gift in I think 1988 and never used it, said it just wasn't his "Style", lol. I do not know anything else about it. I do know its been in the box until I took pics of it, so will it need service after sitting for so long? I just don't know.Item under consideration is a 9 inch Tall, ATMOS (atmospheric) CLASSIC MANTLE CLOCK, Serial Number 651946 with a jeweled 540 movement and a gilt gold rectangular case. Produced in 1987 by Jaeger LeCoultre located in Geneva, Switzerland. Clock is glass encased with a 24K gold plated bronze frame. Has a Rare Square dial with a gold gilt bezel, applied gold Arabic numerals and indexes positioned on a lacquered white faced dial, 13 jewel 540 movement, and a locking mechanism for transport. The clock is equipped with a glass bubble level and two adjustable front feet to assist in the leveling of the clock, necessary for accurate operation. Clock is working smooth as it should and keeping good time, without fail. Note: Clock is NEW OLD STOCK, never used, never activated and placed in storage. Atmos Clock operation: The Atmos clock operates with no external power source use, never needs to be manually wound by hand or require use of a suspended weight, as most pendulum clocks do. Instead, the Atmos clock gets its power to operate from minute changes in atmospheric temperature. No batteries, no electricity, no manual windings. Extremely accurate and silent. The technical principle behind the Atmos operation is a beguiling one; inside a hermetically sealed capsule is a mixture of gas and liquid which expands as the ambient temperature rises and contracts as it falls, causing the capsule surface to move like a concertina. This motion is utilized to wind up the clock’s mainspring. A variation in temperature of one degree C provides sufficient energy for 48 hours of clock operation. The Atmos is specifically designed and built so that there is minimal resistance opposing this small amount of created energy. To convert this small amount of energy into motion, everything inside the Atmos has to work as smoothly and gently as possible Therefore all its parts are made of the highest quality material with the greatest of precision, and are practically wear free. Theoretically, an ATMOS clock should expect a service life of at least 600 years, although, with today’s air pollution, it is recommended to service every 20 years, or so. Connoisseurs of elegant forms, precious materials, and traditional craftsmanship are, also, not disappointed with the Atmos. The frame of this Atmos, under consideration, is 24K Gold plated. Every Atmos is made by hand, with some models requiring a full month to complete a single clock. There are an additional 5 weeks of testing, alinements and fine adjustments that every ATMOS has to successfully complete before acceptance by the master watchmakers of Jaeger LeCoultre. The subtle union between the classic and the modern is the secret to the Atmos collection's timelessness. Its unique design allows the observer to view the complexity and operation of its machinery from all angles. The ring shaped balance wheel seems to float in the air, charting the course of time with utter ease and grace. The Atmos clock in its gilded cage is a genuine icon of style and perfection. A unique gem of horological technology. Temperatures changes are its source of power and its balance wheel will operate as long as the sun will shine. Vintage signed 1977 San Marcos Pendulum Striking German Gazo Family Clock. It measures 41"h 15"w, and 10"d with the case in excellent condition. It weighs about 38 lbs The Gazo family of clockmakers was based in San Diego, California, and was known for crafting high-quality clocks. They were in business from the 1940s until 1988, when the family retired and closed the business. This clock features a German-made movement and has an intricate design with beveled glass and a fine fruitwood stain finish. It also includes quarter and hourly Westminster chimes, which are known for their beautiful tonal quality. Because the Gazo family is no longer in business, their clocks have become highly sought-after by collectors and clock enthusiasts. Clock seems to be keeping a faily accurate time. This Clock is beautiful and has been well taken care of. No serious scratches or any damage or repairs that I can see. Local pick-up would be really nice, but I will ship. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Vintage Isamu Noguchi Measured Time Black Bakelite Clock/ Timer
eBay This circa 1930s electric clock timer was designed by noted sculptor, landscape artist and industrial designer Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988). The piece features a shiny black bakelite arched case and has a large round clock face with a domed glass cover. There is a 120 minute timer under a domed plastic cover which is located within an arched opening at the top. The piece is equipped with a large On/Off lever switch at the left and a round control dial at the center. The back of the piece has a notched metal bracket so it can be hung on a wall while the bottom has two molded bar-form feet so it can be displayed on a counter or shelf. The clock timer comes complete with fabric wrapped cord. The center of the clock face is printed with the words "MEASURED TIME" and also has the words "MEASURED TIME INC. LA PORTE, INDIANA" printed along the bottom. The piece retains its metal manufacturer's label on the reverse which reads "MEASURED TIME INC. LAPORTE. IND. / MODEL E / PATENTS 1371781 1424092 1620455 1821628 1821629 OTHER PAT'S. PENDING." The clock timer stands 6.125" tall and is 5" by 2.5" at the base. The case itself is 2.5" deep and measures 3.125" from the front of the round control knob to the back of the case. The piece weighs in at 1lb 10oz. This bakelite clock timer displays beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to a kitchen or office, whether used on a day-to-day basis or placed on a shelf or counter for display.
