eBay This circa 1930s electric clock timer was designed by noted sculptor, landscape artist and industrial designer Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988). The piece features a shiny black bakelite arched case and has a large round clock face with a domed glass cover. There is a 120 minute timer under a domed plastic cover which is located within an arched opening at the top. The piece is equipped with a large On/Off lever switch at the left and a round control dial at the center. The back of the piece has a notched metal bracket so it can be hung on a wall while the bottom has two molded bar-form feet so it can be displayed on a counter or shelf. The clock timer comes complete with fabric wrapped cord. The center of the clock face is printed with the words "MEASURED TIME" and also has the words "MEASURED TIME INC. LA PORTE, INDIANA" printed along the bottom. The piece retains its metal manufacturer's label on the reverse which reads "MEASURED TIME INC. LAPORTE. IND. / MODEL E / PATENTS 1371781 1424092 1620455 1821628 1821629 OTHER PAT'S. PENDING." The clock timer stands 6.125" tall and is 5" by 2.5" at the base. The case itself is 2.5" deep and measures 3.125" from the front of the round control knob to the back of the case. The piece weighs in at 1lb 10oz. This bakelite clock timer displays beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to a kitchen or office, whether used on a day-to-day basis or placed on a shelf or counter for display.
