Vintage Jeweler's Watchmaker's Lathe ~ Solid Walnut Base W/ Drawer & Accessories
Vintage Jeweler's Watchmaker's Lathe ~ Solid Walnut Base W/ Drawer & Accessories Vintage Jeweler's Watchmaker's Lathe ~ Solid Walnut Base W/ Drawer & Accessories Click images to enlarge Description Click here to see the working clocks in our eBay store! This is a sweet set up. It would make a great addition to your shop, a nice portable station for doing demonstrations at shows, or even a nice museum display. It has a pretty old cord, so as a disclaimer, I would suggest replacing it. However, there are no bare spots, I plugged it in and it runs fine. The one drawer cabinet is solid walnut. It is in good, used in a shop condition. There are oil stains, bumps and bruises, like you would expect to find. It seems like a very rare headstock with power take off gearing. I haven't seen many like this. There are many attachments, parts, pivot drills, collets, gears, saw wheels, etc. that can be seen in the pictures. This belonged to a well known northeastern machinist horologist who died a few years back. For shipping, I would like to detach the motor and lathe from the lid and wrap/pack separately (and well), but this will require re-assembly on your part, so if you don't want that you can let me know and I will try to wrap it as it is. Probably too large for international shipping. Check with me first. Payment Ebay makes it pretty easy to pay for purchases in just about any way you choose. Any payment that requires time to process (clear) will delay shipping. Email us with questions concerning other forms of payment in addition to those that ebay offers. Shipping Most clocks will be shipped within 5 business days of received payment. We like to give each clock sold a final test run and observation before packing. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. All items are carefully packaged with around 1 ½" of packing material between your purchase and the box. All items are shipped insured. We never anticipate damage but in the event that an incident occurs, we will help with insurance claims as much as possible. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. Normally, all shipping costs are either based on package size and weight, or covered by a specified flat rate. Smaller items can be combined to save shipping costs. Because clocks require large boxes, Priority Mail is usually far to expensive. Therefore,we quote either FedEx or UPS prices in most cases. *For any shipments other than the lower 48 United States, contact us first for a shipping quote before bidding. Do not go by the shipping calculator.* Terms of Sale All sales are final, so please be sure that you will be happy by reviewing the pictures and descriptions that we provide. Antiques clocks are delicate and very difficult to ship properly, and also very expensive to ship. We honestly want you to be happy. We try to keep an excellent feedback rating by being fair and honest. We try to describe all items accurately so that you pretty much know exactly what to expect when your purchase arrives. It should be understood before bidding that all antique clocks, unless otherwise noted, have nicks, tarnished brass, stains, minor dents, possibly touch ups and minor scratches on the glass, all of which are normally acquired from long term honest use. It is nearly impossible to find one in "mint" condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is sold as "in running condition," it means that we have test run it before listing it and feel confident that it will run for you. About Us Mainly, we buy, sell, repair, restore and collect clocks. Once in awhile we do offer other types of antiques and collectibles for sale, but mainly clocks are what we're about. We spend quite a bit of time traveling around the northeast buying clocks and clock parts, and many times we are able to buy large quantities from clock collector estates or clock dealers who are downsizing or closing out altogether. We are a very small, family run enterprise.. Ben handles all repairs in house. He has been restoring clocks since 1976, and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors since 1978. Jen and Lana handle all of the pictures, listings, marketing and design, as well as some of the restoration work. We all help out in the packing and shipping department and are dedicated to making sure your clock is packaged carefully and properly in order to arrive safely. We also send an instruction sheet by email for each clock sold. Contact Us You may notice that since joining eBay in 2000 our feedback has been positive. We only receive feedback about a third of the time, which means we have actually had several thousand positive transactions over the past 23 years that are not recorded in the feedback system. We definitely don't want any bad feedbacks, so we try to describe everything exactly as it is and if we do something wrong, we will make it right. If you email us on Saturday, itt may be Monday before you hear back from us. We do not use our computers on Sunday, the Lord's day, but will answer any emails Monday through Saturday and although we do not expect any problems, we will do whatever we can to resolve any issues. Please do not wait until late in an auction to ask questions (we may not be here). *Also, please do not ask us to falsify shipping records for international shipping. Honesty is always the best policy.* Get images thatmake Supersized seem small.Showcase your items with Auctiva sListing Templates!THE simple solution for eBay sellers. HAMILTON 21 Ship Clock with 2 Mahogany Boxes - Working !
Up for sale is a Hamilton Model 21 Marine Chronometer with 3-tier Wooden Box, with Large Brass Gimbal Suspension Ring and one-way Ratcheting Winding Key. This clock also includes an additional large outer mahogany wood "Guard Box" to maximally protect the inner box and clock from harmful sea-salt-air, and from vibration while serving on a ship at sea. The clock is in excellent working condition, and the cosmetic condition ranges from fair to good as indicated below. The box appears lightly used and may be a replacement This item is the large 85-size Hamilton Model 21 marine chronometer ( and not the smaller 35-size Hamilton model 22 chronometer) Only the clock, gimbal ring, inner wooden box, large outer wooden "Guard Box", and 1-way ratcheting winding key are included in this sale, as shown in the photos. The clock is in very good running condition, and is keeping time. Although the Overhaul Due sticker would indicate a clock service date of 1978 (1981 minus the standard 3 year service and calibration recall period), any more recent service history is unknownThe clock runs strong and continuously for approximately 55 hours after a full wind-up.The movement is complete, clean and appears to be in excellent condition. Through 80 years of use and prior servicing there are some scratches, minor scuffs, dirt, oil residue and other signs of wear. See photos of clock interior and mechanism. The clock dial is in good condition, but has some minor scratches, streaks and light patina. There are rub-marks on the extreme outer edge of the dial where the bezel ring clamps down upon the dial. This outer rim wear on the dial is common, and is normally out of view when under the bezel. (See photos). All 4 clock hands are present and are in very good cosmetic condition. The round clock glass is clear, but it has several moderate to scratches, and 1 scuff mark, each of which are difficult to photograph, and are not easy to see under normal lighting conditions. The bezel ring is in generally good condition. The bezel has the aforementioned U.S. Navy Overhaul Due date sticker. See photos of silvered bezel. The Brass Chronometer clock case tub has minor scratches and marks. The clock case tub also has oxidation and residue on the sides (see photos). The chronometer's UP - DOWN winding power reserve indicator hand and its driving mechanism are working properly. The Up - Down indicator was used as follows: When in service aboard a ship, these marine chronometers were always wound every day, and at the same time each day, to ensure maximum timekeeping accuracy. It is the first 24 hours of operation after a full winding of the clock that isosynchronism (stable timekeeping rate) is best achieved. After 24 hours there is sometimes a slight drop-off in accuracy as the mainspring winds down from 24 to 48 hours. The Up - Down indicator was used as a visual verification that the chronometer had indeed been wound-up again for that day, and consistently for every day. If the hand passes the 24 hour mark, then it is time to wind up the chronometer again (even though it would continue running with lesser but still acceptable levels of accuracy). The 3-tier wooden Inner box appears very lightly used and is in very good overall condition. This appears to be a replacement box. See photos. The Inner box drop-handles, latches and hinges are present, are in good cosmetic condition and are working as expected. See photos. The Inner box's time observation glass plate is in good condition with neither any cracks nor any visible scratches. The Inner box's time observation glass plate is in good condition with neither any cracks nor any visible scratches. The large outer mahogany wood Guard Box is in average condition for its 80 year age. There are minor blemishes or scratches on the wood finish. There is minor shrinkage and shifting of 2 of the outer box wood joints, but this is minor. The green velvet cushioned interior has aged, and there is minor fluffing, and dust on some of the green velvet. The brass gimbal ring, its support screws and nuts are all present and are functioning as expected. There is some oxidation and accumulation of tarnish and dirt on the metal gimbal ring surfaces. See photos. The swiveling locking arm is present and is working properly. See photos. The wooden box measures approximately 7.5 inches on each side (excluding side handles)The clock dial is 4 and 1/8 inches in diameter Although the clock is currently functioning well and keeping time, the continued future operation or timing performance cannot be guaranteed, as all of the parts inside the clock were made and adjusted many years ago. Prior service history is unknown.Only the Chronometer clock, gimbal ring, winding key, the 3-tier inner box, and the large outer Guard Box are included in this sale. No other items are included. The chronometer will be carefully secured and balance wheel "Corked" (immobilized for safe transport). The clock will be double-boxed with plenty of protective cushioning, with tracking and insurance for safe delivery. I've shipped over 20 of these chronometers with 100% of them arriving safely in undamaged condition Please ask before buying if you have any questions. Limited Edition 1978 Ridgeway Grandfather Clock Inlaid Mahogany Date Month Moon
eBay We are happy to offer this beautiful Limited edition 1978 Ridgeway grandfather clock. The is clock was designed as a monument to the traditional designs of the 18th century. It features hand-rubbed Solid mahogany and Mahogany veneered cabinetry with marquetry inlay and beveled glass. The movement is the well known Urgos five tubular bell precision movement that play the Westminster Chimes (which can be turned off). The movement is driven by Chrome weights and a brass pendulum. It has a solid brass face with pewter finish, finely etched with raised brass roman numerals and lovely 18th century ornamentation. There are 3 three dials which tell day, month, day and date. Above the clock face is a moving disc that shows the phases of the moon. NOTE: The moon face turns freely by hand but does not advance on its own. We have not looked into what needs to be done to fix this. All other dials function correctly and the clock runs continuously and chimes as intended. This clock is very solidly build, and has adjustable levelers on the bottom of the feet. The clock measures approx. 89" tall to the top of the cast brass eagle between the handsome split pediment, 21" wide at the nicely carved base, and 13", also at the base. This is a used, vintage clock, and although it is not in perfect condition, it is a wonderful looking piece.Due to risk of damage, we are offering local pickup on this piece. We will disassemble as needed while when you pick up the clock and show you how to set it back up. If the buyer lives within 150 miles of Charlotte, we will deliver the clock and help you set it up for $200.00.NOTE: Many of our pieces come from estate sales so we do not have any history of the pieces. We try to describe the pieces as best we can, but use the photos as your guide as those of of the actual pieces you are buying. We try to be as clear as possible in our photos so please view the photos carefully and ask any questions or request additional photos if needed before bidding. This piece or pieces are being sold as is. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
