Limited Edition 1978 Ridgeway Grandfather Clock Inlaid Mahogany Date Month Moon
SOLD $900.00 Sold: Jan 11, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
eBay We are happy to offer this beautiful Limited edition 1978 Ridgeway grandfather clock. The is clock was designed as a monument to the traditional designs of the 18th century. It features hand-rubbed Solid mahogany and Mahogany veneered cabinetry with marquetry inlay and beveled glass. The movement is the well known Urgos five tubular bell precision movement that play the Westminster Chimes (which can be turned off). The movement is driven by Chrome weights and a brass pendulum. It has a solid brass face with pewter finish, finely etched with raised brass roman numerals and lovely 18th century ornamentation. There are 3 three dials which tell day, month, day and date. Above the clock face is a moving disc that shows the phases of the moon. NOTE: The moon face turns freely by hand but does not advance on its own. We have not looked into what needs to be done to fix this. All other dials function correctly and the clock runs continuously and chimes as intended. This clock is very solidly build, and has adjustable levelers on the bottom of the feet. The clock measures approx. 89" tall to the top of the cast brass eagle between the handsome split pediment, 21" wide at the nicely carved base, and 13", also at the base. This is a used, vintage clock, and although it is not in perfect condition, it is a wonderful looking piece.Due to risk of damage, we are offering local pickup on this piece. We will disassemble as needed while when you pick up the clock and show you how to set it back up. If the buyer lives within 150 miles of Charlotte, we will deliver the clock and help you set it up for $200.00.NOTE: Many of our pieces come from estate sales so we do not have any history of the pieces. We try to describe the pieces as best we can, but use the photos as your guide as those of of the actual pieces you are buying.
