1954 Howard Miller Diamond Kite Clock George Nelson MCM Model 2217 Table top
Here's your chance at the model #2217 Diamond / Kite clock, the table-top version of George Nelson's 1954 design, for Howard Miller.Now sadly this one has seen better days however that opens up the possibility of an affordable "diamond in the rough" for one who's satisfied to display as-is. Or, for the handy one whom has access to parts or the ability to repair, a project. It retains its original Howard Miller sticker, original hands, & a pair of original porcelain wire nuts.Condition: The electric motor does not run. Many of the 10 "map push pin" type clock face pins are missing. A simple internet search reveals map push pins tacks that could be installed for a better display and could be an easy replacement option. The hands match other original models found with research. As you can see the hour hand has two black lines on it and the minute hand has a bend in it. If there ever was a second hand, it's long gone. Please look closely at the picture that shows the motor, the two screws that held the back section to the front are broken and still embedded in the front section of the clock. These will either need to be carefully extracted out or maybe for the as-is and display fella two tiny spots of glue to semi permanently secure the back to the front. Otherwise, scattered areas or age-related paint loss. Measurements: Wooden face; at widest point is 10 1/4", & at the tallest point is 6 1/4", and is 5 1/2" deep. Antique 1920's Solid Mahogany "Bawo & Dotter" 6 Tube Chiming Grandfather Clock
eBay This stunning Solid Mahogany Grandfather clock is being offered for sale for the first time since purchased new in the 1920s. We acquired the clock directly from the original owners estate in Torrington CT. The clock was manufactured by Bawo & Dotter in Germany sometime between 1909 - 1930. The clock is of the best quality featuring beveled glass on all side showcasing the large brass weights and swinging pendulum. Chiming on every 1/4 hour on lovely and deep tubular chimes. the clock resonates inside whatever room it's placed. But rest easy, all of the chimes can be turned off using levers on the stunningly decorated brass dial. The movement is an 8 day running mechanism and includes the original winding key. The clock has been running at our gallery and chiming away, however due to the complexity of this mechanism you will need to have the clock setup and tuned by a professional or experienced clock person upon its arrival into your home. A professional cleaning and service is highly recommended since the last service date on the clock was back in 1954, so it is overdue. This vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos IV Caliber 522 mantle clock is a stunning piece of mid 20th century decor. The clock is in excellent working condition and keeps accurate time.This beautiful clock is a perfect addition to any collection or as a statement piece for any mantle. Used very sparingly after its last servicing before it was given to me. I tested it before listing, set time and it remained accurate to within 1 minute or less for the 2-3 days I had it unlocked and in motion. Very smooth and looks to be almost perfectly level based on my limited research on this beautiful piece. Minor marks but in excellent condition. See photos. About:Another Atmos model was added in 1954. This model moved the pendulum retention knob to the movement itself, allowing a hinged door to be used in the case. The Atmos IV used Cal. 522 (with a 50 mm main plate) or 532 (45 mm) and featured a single thick line on the pendulum. These were produced for a short time that year only, with all known serial numbers in the 60,000-70,000 range. This short production run makes the Atmos IV one of the rarest full-production models. One notable difference starting with the Atmos IV was the elimination of the three-pointed bridge used to hold the minute wheel. Instead, the minute train was “flying” above the three-quarter plate in this and all future Atmos models. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Still was living in GR in 1950 census, listed as gun welder in the refrigerator factory. Nash Kelvinator and Hudson car company merged together to form AMC in 1954. So after 30 years with both companies, he was awarded this clock for his service.
