FINEST Ca. 1900 Tiffany & Co. {Paris} Sterling Silver 1/4 Repeating Strut Clock
eBay TIFFANY & CO. SILVER BELLE ÉPOQUE QUARTER REPEATING STRUT CLOCKdoubtless the finest surviving example of its typeHighly prized clock from my personal collection. Time has come for these horological gems to find new homes. Elegant Tiffany and Co. designs from the turn of the century through the 1980s comprise a significant category of meritorious clocks curated since 1970. Yes; that's me setting the time to welcome 1974.The handsome French hallmarked first standard (.950 purity) silver bezel is beautifully proportioned, displaying jewelry grade finishing. A thick beveled crystal protects the matte gilt dial signed "Tiffany & Co." "8 Days" "France" and "Repeater Quarter Noteworthy aspects of the timepiece include delicate blued steel spade and whip hands, folding silver easel on robust hinge bracket signed "Sterling" "Tiffany & Co." and hallmarked with poincon of Paris silversmith Gerain Amond, and push-repeat steel arm with knurled brass button extending from side of the movement housing. The 8-day running pocket watch ebauche carries Swiss patent No. 7032, assigned on July 19, 1893 to watchmaker and inventor Amédée Pere Douard (1834-1913). The caliber was modified with addition of quarter repeating works by A. Comman of Paris; signing the rear movement plate "Made for Tiffany & Co." Interesting Factoids Dials of 19th century bedside and folding travel clocks were often gilded to reflect limited (candle or oil lamp) light, enabling time to be read at night. Similarly, frames containing important works of art were gilded throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. Around 1910, electricity reached major metropolitan residences. Incandescent bulbs invented by Edison provided light with the flip of a switch. Following WWI, French and Swiss bedside, travel and carriage clocks incorporating very costly repeat functions became obsolete. Few of these horological marvels survive 125 years; even fewer quarter repeating specimens in fine operating order. NOTE: Earlier this year the complex movement was completely disassembled (including removal of mainsprings from barrels), ultrasonically cleaned and rinsed, elements checked for wear, pivots polished, two jewels replaced, the time train mainspring terminal restored, reassembled and lubricated with high-grade Swiss grease and two viscosity oils. Operation was bench tested for weeks and timekeeping regulated. The silver strut, bronze case back, movement housing and dust cover were hand cleaned, polished and lacquer sealed. Dial, hands and crystal were cleaned, and the sterling bezel hand polished to high luster. Meticulous restoration enhanced aesthetics, ensuring reliable mechanical operation for years. Typical labor and materials cost of professionally overhauling a quarter repeating clock of this caliber is $1,200. Please review descriptive information, study the photographs for details and enjoy the movie demonstrating quarter repeating. I'm available to respond to questions / concerns. CONSCIENTIOUSLY PACKED & SHIPPED WORLDWIDE (Condition: Pre-Owned)

eBay An Edwardian miniature travel clock designed by Valmé Extremely beautiful antique miniature travel-carriage clock, made in Geneva Switzerland by the Concord Watch Co. The three sides panels and the top, are embellished with applications of vivid pink enamel over a radiant Guilloché surface. Edwardian jewelry is known for representing femininity while incorporating a lot of the color white. Think diamonds, pearls and white metals like platinum and white gold. Diamonds often had an Old Mine or European cut and sapphires were a popular choice for a pop of color. They tended to be made from platinum and diamonds – the more, the merrier – and used fashionable, intricate techniques such as filigree and millegrain. Edwardian rings are works of art and best worn alone or alongside a simple wedding band. Millegraining, a new decorative technique made possible by the use of platinum, is featured often on Edwardian jewelry. Its border of delicate balls and ridges surrounding a gemstone or on the knife sharp edges of a design served to give jewelry a softer, lighter look.Note: Guilloché is used in fine jewelry to enhance the appearance of brooches, rings and pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.Note: Clock has been professionally cleaned and serviced. Clock is in excellent working condition. The silver has not been polished to preserve the patina. The Case has some minor surface marks, lining has no tears but very minor discoloration and fraying threads. Both pieces are in original excellent antique condition Collateral: It is accompanied by the original designer's presentation fitted leather case.Condition: The overall condition of this clock is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The enamel is in perfect condition. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity INVENTORY REF: D052023REMG 2 036 (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Antique Gustave Serrurier Bovy Secessionist Arts & Crafts Mantel Clock Nouveau
Antique Gustave Serrurier Bovy Secessionist Arts & Crafts Mantel Clock Nouveau. Circa 1900 Brass & Wood Secessionist Mantel Clock designed by Gustave Serrurier Bovy (1858–1910). Bovy is credited as the father of Art Nouveau. This is a very rare clock. The clock has a decidedly Arts & Crafts appeal rather than Art Nouveau. The clockworks are only marked with a series of numbers, “153/39” and “150.” This oak bodied & brass clock comes with its original pendulum and key. It’s a bit hard to tell with the lighting in the photos but there is a glass window towards the bottom of the clock face that allows the pendulum to be seen swinging. When the previous owner wound the clock, it did not work. When they advanced the keys, the chimes did strike on the bell at the top on the hour and half hour. I have not touched the clock since. There is some very light wear to the brass bottom right and a tiny wood chip to the front left foot. This antique Gustave Serrurier Bovy Clock is in original condition with no restorations. For any collector of GSB designed work this is an excellent opportunity. I’d imagine that any competent clock repair shop will be able to get it in working order for you. As is it’s an incredibly handsome addition to your favorite room. Ships ASAP! Thanks Free Boston pickup available.
