ANYONE WHO DESIRES SHOULD FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME AND I WILL BE HAPPY TO DISCUSS DETAILS OF THE SONORA 2001AS WELL AS DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE VARIOUS SONORAS IN GENERAL. PLEASE STUDY THE SUPERSIZE HIGH RESOLUTION PHOTOS TO REVIEW ALL ASPECTS OF THE SONORA CHIME 2001. THE WINDING HOLE NEAR THE “8” IS FOR THE HOUR COUNT CHIME; THE ONE NEAR THE “4” IS FOR THE TIME TRAIN. BOTH THE HOUR COUNT AND TIME TRAIN ARE HANDLED BY THE NO. 89X MOVEMENT. ANOTHER HOLE AT THE “3” IS FOR WINDING THE QUARTER-HOUR WESTMINSTER AND WHITTINGTON CHIMES, HANDLED BY THE NO. 104E MOVEMENT. A SMALLER HOLE BELOW THE HAND SHAFT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DIAL IS FOR ACCESSING THE SLOW-FAST TIME ADJUSTMENT. A SLIDE LEVER ON THE SIDE OF THE CASE IS FOR CHIME-SILENT OPERATION. WHEN OPERATED, THE QUARTER HOUR CHIMES WILL BE SILENCED. THE TOP LEFT SUBSIDIARY DIAL WILL SILENCE THE HOUR STRIKE IF DESIRED. THE TOP RIGHT SUBSIDIARY PROVIDES FOR SELECTION BETWEEN WHITTINGTON AND WESTMINSTER CHIMES. THE DIAL IS LARGE AND CAN BE VIEWED WITH EASE IN A LARGE ROOM OR VENUE. THE 89X MOVEMENT HANDLES THE TIME AND HOUR STRIKE FUNCTIONS AND THE 104E MOVEMENT HANDLES THE QUARTER HOUR FUNCTIONS. EACH QUARTER HOUR SEQUENCE IS SOUNDED ON THE DEEP TONED BELLS WITH RICH HARMONICS, TIMBRE AND LINGERING DECAY WHEN STRUCK. THE WHITTINGTON MELODY SEQUENCES ARE SOUNDED OUT USING ALL EIGHT SONORA BELLS, AND THE WESTMINSTER SEQUENCE IS SOUNDED VIA FOUR OF THE BELLS. PLEASE MAKE IT A POINT TO LISTEN AND CAREFULLY REVIEW THE ATTACHED SOUND FILES IN ORDER TO FULLY APPRECIATE WHAT OWNERS AT THE TURN OF THE 20TH CENTURY APPRECIATED WITH THEIR NEW AND, AT THE TIME, VERY EXPENSIVE 8 BELL DEEP TONED BELL SONORA 2001 CLOCKS. JUST LISTEN FOR AN ACCURATE RENDERING OF THE CLARITY, RESONANCE, TONE DEPTH, TEMPO AND RICH DECAY OF EACH NOTE STRUCK WHEN THE SONORA 2001 CHIMES AND STRIKES THE HOUR. THE SONORA CHIME NO. 2001 - 1914 WILL BE THE CENTER-PIECE OF A GRAND DECORATIVE SETTING, AND IT IS AN EXCELLENT INVESTMENT, BECAUSE ITS VALUE WILL CONTINUE TO APPRECIATE YEAR AFTER YEAR. THIS IS A LARGE FULL SIZE CATHEDRAL SONORA CHIME CLOCK, SUITABLE FOR MANTLE, TABLE, OR SHELF DISPLAY - A MEMORABLE PRESENT FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL, YOUR PERSONAL USE, OR AS AN ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION. MEASUREMENTS ARE 12 ½” W X 18 ½”H X 9 ½” D. RESTORATION AND TECHNICAL DETAILS PLEASE OBSERVE THAT NEARLY HALF OF MY LISTING PORTFOLIO CONTAINS INFORMATION ABOUT THE MECHANICAL ASPECTS AND MOVEMENT RESTORATION OF THE CLOCK.YOU DESERVE, AND SHOULD EXPECT, A RESTORED ANTIQUE SETH OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND RELIABILITY.I STRIVE TO EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS RATHER THAN SIMPLY SELL YOU AN ANTIQUE CLOCK. THE NEST OF SONORA BELLS THE RESTORATION PROCESS INCLUDED COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY AND INSPECTION OF EVERY ASPECT OF THE CLOCK. THE SONORA CHIME BELLS AND CHIME BLOCK ASSEMBLY WERE CAREFULLY DISASSEMBLED, CLEANED TO RESTORE THE RESONANT TIMBRE OF THE SONORA BELLS, AND EXAMINED FOR CONDITION TO INSURE THE ABSENCE OF HAIRLINE CRACKS, ETC. SUPERSIZE PHOTO 9 SHOWS THE BELL NEST WITH SOUND CAVITIES THAT CAN BE SEEN ON THE END OF THE WOODEN NEST. ALSO PICTURED IS THE SONORA 1908 ORIGINAL PATENT THAT IS STAMPED INTO THE SIDE OF THE BELL NEST. CAREFUL INSPECTION OF THE BELLS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: · ONE HAIRLINE CRACK CAN CAUSE A SONORA BELL TO LOSE ALL TONE AND TIMBRE, AND THE BEGINNING OF A HAIRLINE WILL ALMOST ALWAYS GROW TO A FULL HAIRLINE CRACK. · IN ADDITION, OTHER ISSUES WITH CRACKED, BROKEN, OR DETERIORATED WOODEN AND PRESSED FELT BELL SPACERS, USED TO SEPARATE THE BELLS, WILL IMPACT THE SOUND, YET CANNOT BE DETECTED BY CASUAL INSPECTION. · EACH BELL WAS COMPARED WITH A STANDARD FOR PROPER PITCH AND TIMBRE. · THE ONLY WAY TO ASSURE YOURSELF OF NOT BECOMING VICTIM TO PROBLEMS IS VIA FULL AUTHENTICATION OF THE COMPONENTS, WHICH IS MY PLEDGE TO YOU, THE BUYER. MOVEMENTS - #89X AND #104E BOTH THE 89X TIME AND HOUR STRIKE MOVEMENT, AND THE 104E SONORA CHIME MOVEMENTS WERE DISASSEMBLED, CLEANED WITH ULTRASONICS, INSPECTED IN DETAIL FOR CONDITION OF THE PIVOT BUSHINGS, GEAR TRAIN, AND ARBOR OR PIVOT ABNORMALITIES. OUT OF TOLERANCE BUSHINGS WERE REPLACED. EVERY OPERATIONAL ASPECT OF EACH MOVEMENT WAS ADDRESSED. THE MOVEMENTS WERE THEN REASSEMBLED AND PROPERLY LUBRICATED; A VIEW OF THE COMPONENTS CAN BE SEEN IN PHOTO 10. THE GREAT MAINSPRING IN THE 104E WAS REMOVED FROM ITS RETAINING BARREL, FULLY UNWOUND, PROPERLY CLEANED, INSPECTED, REWOUND, AND LUBRICATED WITH MAINSPRING INDUSTRUAL GRADE LUBRICANT. REPLACEMENT OF THE 136 INCH #104 MAINSPRING IS NEITHER RECOMMENDED NOR REQUIRED, AS LONG AS THE EXISTING MAINSPRING EXCEEDS SPECIFICATIONS, AS THIS ONE DOES. A NEW MANUFACTURE REPLACEMENT MAINSPRING TO FIT THE #104 HAS DIFFERENT STRENGTH AND TORQUE CHARACTERISTICS FROM THE ORIGINAL, AND MAY CREATE EXCESSIVE FORCES WITHIN THE MOVEMENT. IMPORTANT: THERE ARE SEVERAL CRITICAL ITEMS OF THE #104E CHIME MOVEMENT. PAY SPECIAL NOTICE TO THESE THREE CRITICAL COMPONENTS: THE GREAT WHEEL GEAR, THE SECOND WHEEL GEAR WITH PINION, AND THE CHIME DRUM THAT SYNCHRONIZES AND DRIVES THE CHIME HAMMERS. IF ANY OF THESE COMPONENTS IS ABOUT TO FAIL, IT MAY NOT BE OBVIOUS. WHEN IT OCCURS, THE COST TO REPAIR WILL GIVE YOU A JOLT, BECAUSE THERE ARE NONE IN SUPPLY CHANNELS; ANOTHER MOVEMENT WILL BE REQUIRED. THAT IS WHY I ALWAYS MAKE SURE THESE CRITICAL COMPONENTS ARE IN TOP CONDITION ON MY RESTORED SETH SONORA CLOCKS. GOOD COUNSEL ON A CONTEMPLATED 8 BELL SONORA ACQUISITION WOULD BE: IF ONE ELECTS TO PURCHASE A SONORA OF UNKNOWN CONDITION – EVEN IF WORKING, BY ALL MEANS HOPE FOR THE BEST, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, BE PREPARED FOR PROBLEMS, SUBSEQUENT OPERATIONAL ISSUES AND EXTREME FRUSTRATION, AS WELL AS CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE. AFTER REASSAMBLY, APPROPRIATE ADJUSTMENTS FOR TIME, CHIME, HOUR STRIKE, SYNCHRONIZATION PENDULUM RATE AND BEAT ERROR ETC. WERE ACCOMPLISHED USING MECHANICAL AND ELECTRONIC MEANS. AN EXTENDED BENCH RUN TEST FOLLOWED. SEVERAL PHOTOS OF THE RESTORATION WORK ARE PART OF THE PORTFOLIO. ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL INFORMATION: · AS PART OF THE TESTS AND ADJUSTMENTS PROCEDURES ON THE #89X MOVEMENT, THE PENDULUM BEAT ERROR AND THE PENDULUM BEAT RATE ARE CHECKED AND SET - AN OBJECTIVE OF NEAR ZERO FOR BEAT ERROR IS DESIRED. THIS RESTORED 89X MOVEMENT ADJUSTED TO ZERO ERROR AND STABILIZED AT ZERO ERROR. THIS ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE IS HIGHLIGHTED IN PHOTO 11. · FOR PENDULUM BEAT RATE, THE 89X IS DESIGNED TO RUN AT 9,777 BEATS PER HOUR. THE RESTORED MOVEMENT EASILY HELD THE 9,777 BEAT RATE, MEANING THE TIME KEEPING WILL BE DEPENDABLE AND THE MOVEMENT WILL GIVE RELIABLE SERVICE. IN FACT, BOTH MOVEMENTS IN THE SONORA 2001 WERE RESTORED TO SUPERIOR CONDITIION. THE PENDULUM BEAT RATE ADJUSTMENT IS ALSO HIGHLIGHTED IN SUPERSIZE PHOTO 11.· THE PENDULUM SWING ARC IS A FULL 3 5/8 INCHES, VERY ROBUST AND EXCEEDING ORIGINAL SPECIFICATIONS. A HEALTY PENDULUM SWING IS A POSITIVE INDICATOR OF A HEALTY MOVEMENT THAT HAS VERY LITTLE FRICTION AND LOTS OF ENERGY. BEWARE OF A #89X MOVEMENT WITH A PENDULUM AMPLITUDE OF 2 ½ INCHES OR LESS – A SIGN OF POOR MOVEMENT HEALTH. THE FULL RESTORATION SERVICE WORK ON THE SONORA MOVEMENTS AND SONORA BELLS ASSEMBLY, AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, IS A $1,500 VALUE IN AND OF ITSELF. IF YOU PURCHASE A SETH THOMAS 8 DEEP TONED BELL SONORA BELL CLOCK OF UNKNOWN OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY, A TRIP THE CLOCK DOCTOR IS LIKELY AND COSTLY. WHY NOT PURCHASE ONE THAT YOU CAN DEPEND ON FROM THE GET GO!!! WORKMANSHIP AND QUALITY – ALL OF MY SETH THOMAS ANTIQUE CLOCKS ARE FULLY RESTORED IN EVERY WAY UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED OTHERWISE. GREAT CARE IS TAKEN TO INSURE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE FUNCTIONS PROPERLY, IS FULLY OPERATIONAL, MEETS OR EXCEEDS ORIGINAL PERFORMANCE SPECS, AND IS BENCH TESTED WHEN SHIPPED. MY SINCERE HOPE IS TO EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS IN EVERY WAY. AS WITH ALL MECHANICAL CLOCK MOVEMENTS, SOME ADJUSTMENTS MAY BE NECESSARY WHEN SETTING UP AFTER SHIPMENT, AND THE CLOCK IS SOLD AS IS. ENJOY THE LISTING – IF YOU NEED OR DESIRE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, PLEASE BE IN TOUCH WITH ME, STEVE. IMPORTANT NOTE – E COMMERCE SOUND PLAYER FILES ARE ATTACHED AT THE BEGINNING OF MY LISTING. SIX SOUND FILES OF THE SETH SONORA CHIME 2001 - 1914 WITH #89X AND # 104E MOVEMENTS IN OPERATION ARE AVAILABLE IN .MP3 FORMAT: 1. VOICE INTRODUCTION 2. HIGHLY AMPLIFIED PENDULUM BEAT ESCAPEMENT VERGE CRUTCH AND TIME GEAR TRAIN OPERATION SOUNDS OF THE FRONT #89X MOVEMENT – LISTEN FOR CLEAN AND EVEN SOUND, REGULARITY, AND THE ABSENCE OF ODD NOISES. 3. WHITTINGTON SEQUENCES AT 7:15 – 7:30 – 7:45 - LISTEN FOR PURE NOTES WITH GOOD TIMBRE, RICH DECAY AND ZESTY TEMPO OF THE MOVEMENT RATHER THAN A SLOW, SLUGGISH OR DRAGGING TEMPO. 4. THE FULL 32 NOTE WHITTINGTON SEQUENCE AND HOUR COUNT AT 8:00. AGAIN, LISTEN FOR PURE NOTES WITH GOOD TIMBRE AND RICH DECAY - AND AGAIN THE ZESTY TEMPO OF THE MOVEMENT RATHER THAN SLOW, SLUGGISH OR DRAGGING TEMPO. 5. WESTMINSTER SEQUENCES AT 7:15 – 7:30 – 7:45 - LISTEN FOR PURE NOTES WITH GOOD TIMBRE, RICH DECAY AND ZESTY TEMPO OF THE MOVEMENT RATHER THAN A SLOW, SLUGGISH OR DRAGGING TEMPO 6. THE FULL 16 NOTE WESTMINSTER SEQUENCE AND HOUR COUNT AT 8:00. AGAIN, LISTEN FOR PURE NOTES WITH GOOD TIMBRE AND RICH DECAY - AND AGAIN THE ZESTY TEMPO OF THE MOVEMENT RATHER THAN SLOW, SLUGGISH OR DRAGGING TEMPO. THE OPERATION SOUNDS ARE NOT NOTICED AT TYPICAL LISTENING DISTANCES. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Edwardian jewelry is known for representing femininity while incorporating a lot of the color white. Think diamonds, pearls and white metals like platinum and white gold. Diamonds often had an Old Mine or European cut and sapphires were a popular choice for a pop of color. They tended to be made from platinum and diamonds – the more, the merrier – and used fashionable, intricate techniques such as filigree and millegrain. Edwardian rings are works of art and best worn alone or alongside a simple wedding band. Millegraining, a new decorative technique made possible by the use of platinum, is featured often on Edwardian jewelry. Its border of delicate balls and ridges surrounding a gemstone or on the knife sharp edges of a design served to give jewelry a softer, lighter look.Note: Guilloché is used in fine jewelry to enhance the appearance of brooches, rings and pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.Note: Clock has been professionally cleaned and serviced. Winterhalder & Hofmeier Small Desk Clock Westminster Chimes w/ Balance Wheel Run
Antique Winterhalder & Hofmeier Small Desk Clock Westminster Chimes w/ Balance Wheel Movement Runs, Strikes and Chimes Item Description Here is a great unique Winterhalder & Hofmeier Bracket Clock with Wood Case and Beveled Glass in running condition for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself!Very unique, uncommon, and rare clock example here from Winterhalder & Hofmeier. First the size, this clock is only 8.75" tall, Secondly, this is a balance wheel movement, have never seen a W&H clock that was not powered by a pendulum. This fine antique mantel clock is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a high end auction house or clock shop. We have been selling clocks out of our home for over 35 years. We are therefore better positioned to control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the high end auction houses and clock shops experience. The clock dates to the 1910 period from what we have researched online. The diminutive size would have it fall into the category of a desk clock. There is another one now online that does not have the Westminster Chimes unit that is up for $2,500 (same diminutive size, still a pendulum driven movement). Another one sold in 2002, again not with Westminster Chimes unit, for $600 per a site we utilize in researching our clock offerings. This clock is much more rare and unique than those clocks.Check out the beautiful curved top on the clock. The case is all intact, with the exception of the carving at the peak of the case. Not sure if carving like rest of case just fell off, or if there was a piece mounted to the front top of the clock at one time. Some minor finish loss to the case. The rear wood door is in place as is the latch mechanism. The red fabric is in place on the inside of the door. The 4 brass like doughnut feet are also still in place on the clock case. Show some finish loss. Beautiful mahogany case on this clock. The clock face is silver with black numbers. Some moderate loss of finish around the wind holes. The bezel is securely attached to the case by the hinge. The beveled glass in the bezel is intact, no cracking or blistering. The front door is very thick with a brass surround, securely attached to the case by the hinges. The movement looks good. The three wind springs feel sound when keyed. The movement has not been serviced or cleaned, we are selling it the way we found it. The clock will come with a wind key. We are selling this clock in running, chiming, and striking condition at this juncture, no warranty intended. There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order. The clock has a Westminster Chime's unit. The clock chimes every 15 minutes, and then chime and strikes on the hour. This is a five gong wire unit. The Winterhalder & Hofmeier Clock stands 8.75" tall, by 6.75" across, by 5.5" (5-7/8" with door latch) wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Some information about the clock and Hofmeier (clocks) goes back to Winterhalder Uhrenfabrik in the Black Forest, a clock manufacturer from 1810. It was further manifested from 1850 under the new name Winterhalder & Hofmeier. In 1869 the company was renamed M. Winterhalder & Hofmeier, Friedenweiler und Schwaerzenbach, in Neustadt. From 1908 the new name was M. Winterhalder & Hofmeier GmbH. The company was part of the Black Forest clockmaker industry as its factory was located in Titisee Neustadt and surroundings and as it subscribed to high quality standards. The company existed until 1933 (A Jewish owned company put out of business by Hitler's Nazi Germany). W&H is regarded as one of the finest Victorian clockmakers of the time.As can be expected when dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed after shipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be very delicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask any questions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it. Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it. The item can be returned, there is a 15% restocking fee to do so. So, please carefully review all the attached pictures, ask all the questions you have, come see in person or send a friend to see the item on your behalf, prior to deciding to acquire it. Chelsea #1 Wall Regulator Clock in Oak Case -1908
I've owned this Chelea #1 wall regulator, pendulum hanging clock since 1974. Now its time to find it a new home. This is serial # 39470 and Chelsea's record book shows that it was sold to the E. Howard Clock Company on November 21, 1908. From there it was sold to the NYC Board of Education and the Chelsea dial was replaced with an aluminum dial as were most of these clocks sold to the school system. The clock hung in a school on Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY until the schools converted to electric clocks. I purchased it from a retired school principal in 1974. <br />This clock has an 8 da

Antique Lenzkirch Open Well Wall Clock
There is a plaque at bottom written in German and translates to "to the 25th anniversary of the service from the college of the P.A. 64, April 19, 1908". Not certain what P.A. 64 represents, maybe a district.

Eureka, 1000 Day Electromagnetic Clock , Serial 407 Made in London Circa 1908.
Eureka, 1000 day electromagnetic clock / timepiece in superb condition and working order. The dial is signed as seen in the pictures, there are a few hairline cracks on the dial in keeping with age and use but it is sound, the movement appears to be in good order and is running fine. Eureka clocks were made in London from 1908 to 1914, the serial number on this one is 407 which I would say dates it to 1908. The glass dome and the turned base are not original, which is not unusual, but they suit the clock perfectly, it stands 12 inches high and is 8 inches wide at the base, it is available for

Antique Clock - Seth Thomas "Empire No. 9" Brass c. 1908, with key (non-working)
The clock was running and striking when I first listed this clock. Then, the situation changed (probably from my sliding the clock on the counter that it sits on) and the clock would not stop striking.
