Antique Gustave Serrurier Bovy Secessionist Arts & Crafts Mantel Clock Nouveau
Antique Gustave Serrurier Bovy Secessionist Arts & Crafts Mantel Clock Nouveau. Circa 1900 Brass & Wood Secessionist Mantel Clock designed by Gustave Serrurier Bovy (1858–1910). Bovy is credited as the father of Art Nouveau. This is a very rare clock. The clock has a decidedly Arts & Crafts appeal rather than Art Nouveau. The clockworks are only marked with a series of numbers, “153/39” and “150.” This oak bodied & brass clock comes with its original pendulum and key. It’s a bit hard to tell with the lighting in the photos but there is a glass window towards the bottom of the clock face that allows the pendulum to be seen swinging. When the previous owner wound the clock, it did not work. When they advanced the keys, the chimes did strike on the bell at the top on the hour and half hour. I have not touched the clock since. There is some very light wear to the brass bottom right and a tiny wood chip to the front left foot. This antique Gustave Serrurier Bovy Clock is in original condition with no restorations. For any collector of GSB designed work this is an excellent opportunity. I’d imagine that any competent clock repair shop will be able to get it in working order for you. As is it’s an incredibly handsome addition to your favorite room. Ships ASAP! Thanks Free Boston pickup available.

Antique 1860’s French Movement Mantle Clock sold under a Private Label Rights
Antique 1860’s French movement mantle shelf clock sold under a Private Label Rights “Haddock Lincoln & Foss ”CONDITION: Excellent! It is in great condition. It runs well. There are traces of minor chipping around the right key hole. Please see the detail image in the Gallery section. The body of the clock has no dings or cracks. DESCRIPTION: It is an eight day wind clock where its bell clings every hour and half hour. It comes with a winding key and pendulum. Enameled dial face. Smooth black marble/slate with a gilt decoration. Considering the relatively small footprint, the clock is quite heavy, 22 lbs. I fell in love with the clock because it bears a refined taste with its soft, delicately unobtrusive bell ring. It delivers a pleasing sound resonating with a soothing sophistication especially during formal sit down dining events. HISTORY: Charles M. Foss and Albert L. Lincoln (1847-1858) advertised their firm as Importers and dealers in Rich Watches, Clocks, Jewelry & Silver Ware. The firm of Lincoln & Foss was within steps of Boston’s best jewelry houses. Lincoln & Foss was reorganized as Haddock, Lincoln & Foss in 1859, when longtime independent Boston silversmith Henry Haddock joined the firm as senior partner. As a part of their jewelry and silver ware business they imported clocks with French movement from Paris, and retailed them under a Private Label “Haddock, Lincoln & Foss, Boston.” Haddock remained with the firm until 1868, when he retired from the silverware and jewelry business. At the time of his departure, the company was disbanded, and former partner Charles M. Foss joined the partnership of Samuel T. Crosby and Henry D. Morse, which was listed in the 1870 Boston directory as “Jewelers, Silversmiths, and Diamond Cutters, also dealers of Rich Watches, Silver and Plated Wares.” MEASUREMENTS: 11” Long 6” Wide 8” High WEIGHT: 22 lbs (Condition: Pre-Owned)

English fusee carriage clock movement Arnold and Frodsham c1850
Highest quality English Carriage clock movement signed Charles Frodsham on the 2.5" enamel dial and "Arnold's Chas Frodsham" on the back plate. This dates this movement to between 1843 when Frodsham acquired Arnold's business and 1858 when he moved from The Strand. This movement is of the highest quality with chain fusee and maintaining power when wound. The movement runs healthily with the modern lever escapement which appears to be running fast. I believe an older platform escapement would be more suitable.I am selling this as parts or repair project and you will receive everything in the ph

1858 Rare Cast Iron German Burgermeister Moving Eye Clock working (with key)
1858 Rare Cast Iron German Burgermeister Moving Eye Clock working (with key) Offered here is a recent estate sale purchase. It is a very hard to find moving eye clock, meant to be a German Burgermeister. The clock is marked on the bottom Germany and 1858 and it takes its style and shape from similar clocks made by Bradley & Hubbard. The owner purchased this clock while living overseas in the 1960's.The clock is currently running but it will need some adjustments. It does have more of a novelty clock movement with a hair spring, and I am not sure how long it will run on a full wind. The clock is time only.Overall in good condition, a few paint flecks/chips otherwise quite nice. The dial is porcelain with no cracks noted and the hands appear to be original. The crack seen just below his hat is where the clock separates when the movement is accessed by removing two screws from the arms. There is a number 18 marked below the movement on the front piece of the clock and a corresponding 18 on the inside of the back when removed. Also a H 6.Other than running the clock to make sure it functions I have made no other adjustments. The eyes move side to side and it's actually quite creepy, but will make an excellent addition to your collection. The clock is just shy of 10" tall and the base is 6-1/4" x 4-1/2".The pictures form part of my description. If you have questions please ask and I will try to answer. Please see my other auctions for more clocks. All items are from a non-smoking home.Sales TermsSHIPPING & HANDLING: U.S. Buyer pays FedEx shipping on this item, depending on your zone.
