eBay c.1845 English Rosewood Bracket Clock.Inv. :e89Maker:Blundell London Description:A very nice mid-19th century Rosewood English time and strike bracket Clock by Blundell, London.Case:The simple architectural rosewood veneered case has bun feet, a decorative fluted molding above and fabric backed brass fish scale frets to the sides.Dial:The white painted dial has Roman numerals for the hours, steel cut hands, a strike/silent lever above the 12 and is signed by the maker, ‘Blundell, London’ Movement:The large eight-day double-fusee movement is held in by two brackets and a bolt through the base of the case and is signed on the backplate, Blundell, London. The heavy pendulum has the bob suspended from the center, a screwed adjustment for fast/slow and is suspended by a steel suspension spring. Rare Antique Richard Ward Salem Bridge Shelf Clock, 8-Day, Weight Driven. Ward was one of the later Salem Bridge makers. He took over the Sylvester Clark factory when Clark retired in 1835. He continued in business until 1845. Around 1840, he redesigned the movement to be mounted to the weight channels instead of a seatboard. This is one of the later clocks with the elongated rectangular movement. 1840 Antique Rare Elisha Manross Mahogany Double Steeple Fusee Clock
Amazing rare mahogany double-steeple Clock by Elisha Manross of Bristol, Connecticut, circa 1840-1845, with painted zinc dial, roman numerals, maltese hands, original top glass with period correct reproduction tablets (comes with original damaged lower tablet) great paper label which is mostly intact but faded inside case, and massive recently cleaned and oiled 8-day strap brass movement with fusee below mounted in attached iron & wooden frame. The clock has had repairs to the veneer over the many, many years of its existence- please see pics. I do not run the clock due to lack of key, and its age & rarity but both fusee barrels seem to have spring tension and have been recently re-strung by someone. All of the finials are intact with very minor tip damage on one of them. Has both original door knobs and turning latches. Backboard is solid, tight and in great shape. No key. Stands 23 1/2 inches tall, 13" wide and 4" deep. Shipping with be by Fedex Ground and double-boxed. Shipping costs will be actual based on weight and buyer's zip code. JJ Beals & Company, Boston double steeple clock @ 1845. This great clock was made by Birge & Fuller, Bristol, Conn., and retailed by JJ Beals in Boston. This is an excellent original untouched example of a very rare clock. The condition is like out of a drawer in a dresser. The only flaws are a piece of missing veneer on the 9 o'clock side base return molding, and a tiny loss at the tip of the lower finial on the 3 o'clock side. Case is very solid with no other problems or veneer issues. Great original untouched color and finish. Great original
