I am not 100% sure about the year, so it may be pre 1970, but ebay wouldn't let me list it without selecting a range.It runs, the chime works (I have video to show it in action if youd like to see it). It chimes every hour (the number of the hour 8 o'clock, 8 chimes) and once in the half hour. It has some tarnishing and blemishes. I started to clean it, it cleans up nice as you can see in the pictures (3rd and 4th)...I do not have the time or patience for something like this. This is more for someone who has the time, enjoys and appreciates clocks. I have seen the same clock, listed
