Antique G.S. Tiffany 1904 Electric Crystal Regulator Clock ~Beveled Glass, Rare Rare G.S. Tiffany electric battery operated crystal regulator clock, dial signed "Tiffany Electric Mfg. Co, Buffalo" with a patent date of 1904, these clocks were among the first battery "electric" clocks. Brass case with (3) beveled glass panels, one replaced non-beveled side glass, disc pendulum, replacement battery box as shown, original hands and dial. There are areas of oxidation and wear to the finish as shown. Untested, as it it not hooked up to a power source. I have included a video. This 120 years old clock is a rare survivor and historical example predating AC in most homes of the period. Measures 9.5" height x 6" width and 5.25" depth. The early battery electric clocks, including Tiffany, were beaten into submission with the introduction of AC main power distribution into the consumers home and the development of cheap and reliable electric motors for clocks. George Steele Tiffany was a man of the moment. He saw an opportunity to make and sell an electric version of the then popular 400 day clock.
