French Louis Boname Brass Inlay Boulle Hanging Bracket Shelf Mantel Wall Clock
French Louis Boname Brass Inlay Boulle Hanging Bracket Shelf Mantel Wall Clock
SOLD $1,195.00 Sold: Apr 7, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
This is a museum quality, French, Victorian, Boulle-style clock that probably dates to around 1880. The movement is stamped with Louis Boname stamp. This appears to be a tortoise shell finish with brass inlay and bronze/brass embellishments. Look at the photos and make your own assessments. There are no issues other than less than typical age associated patina. The brass inlay on the curved part of the shelf is very slightly lifting, but it's of no consequence and should be expected. I wouldn't even glue it down. The clock was wound and ticks and when the hands are cycled it chimes. I believe the wall bracket to be associated with the clock. It's to close of a match not to be. The chances of the clock surviving in this condition with its original shelf are very slim. It's a great piece and priced to sell so don't miss it! I would prefer a local pick up on this one, but if shipping is required, it's important to preserve pieces like this, so the clock will be shipped with the movement out and the top urn removed for safety. It will have to be reassembled upon receipt. The clock is being sold as found. If you're not familiar with clocks you may need to seek out someone who is. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
