17 "Antique Spanish Porcelain Ceramic Shelf Clock Hernan Cortez
SOLD $276.00 Sold: Mar 9, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Here is a Spanish Desk Clock of Conquistador Hernan Cortez (1485-1547) who is best known for conquering the Aztecs in Mexico. He is sitting on gun powder barrels as he threatened the crew, he would blow up their ship when they considered a mutiny. The clock is 17" high, 6" wide and approx. 3 " deep. It is hand painted with golden ornamental features which are few places a bit worn off, see Photo. The clock comes including key and pendulum. The clock is working but no guarantee. The tip of the musket in his right hand is broke off.The porcelain item was given to me by my grandmother who was born in 1902. A guess as far as age is concerned would be roughly 1890 as she mentioned it was given to her by her mother. There are 3 pieces, a wooden platform, the ceramic clock housing and the figurine.I hope it looks appealing, and I consider an offer. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
