The other knob pushes in and can stop or start the large second hand. Vintage Elgin (HAMILTON) "Elapsed Time" WWII H-37500 24HR U.S. Navy 8 Day Flight Clock These clocks had both Elgin and Hamilton Parts. This one says Elgin on the back of the case.
