SETH THOMAS CYMBAL 2 – 1928 For offer and is this beautiful Seth Thomas Cymbal 2 produced in the year of 1928. This clock is all original from the finish on the Mahogany case down to each tiny screw and has very few character marks as the pictures will show. All the best features are on this model. Raised moldings at each end add style and balance. A two-toned panel design below the dial. A beautiful 5 inch silvered dial with clear dark Arabic numbers that can be read from a distance along with Seth Thomas signature spade hour and minute hands. This clock features a quarter-hour strike movement No. 89K that has been completely rebuilt by me, keeping excellent time throughout the weeks, and strikes each quarter-hour on two rods of different tone. The leather tips in the hammer ends are in great shape allowing a timbre and decay that is pleasing to ear. Two hammer strikes on the quarter-hour, four hammer strikes on the half hour, six hammer strikes on the three-quarter hour and one hammer striking the rod to count out the hour. This can be seen and heard on the video player provided. Just click on the white play arrow in the middle of the video, turn up the volume and enjoy. No scratches or chips are on the convex glass. Both the brass bezel that has its original finish and the back door opens and closes properly. Original bob with the original 2-sided key comes with the clock. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional. What I do to ensure you are buying a quality clock from me. Ø Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely. Ø Install Seth Thomas parts only on the movement as needed. Ø Replace all worn pivot holes with high quality Burgeon bronze bushings as needed. Ø Clean the entire movement ultrasonically. Ø Clean the original dial or have it sent out to have it professionally silvered and restored to Seth Thomas dial specifications. Ø Clean bezel, parts and chime rods by hand. Ø Clean the outside of the original finish by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. Ø Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Ø Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each quarter-hour and hour. Ø Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Ø Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Ø Test the clock for a minimum of two weeks to ensure peak and proper performance for the new owner. Ø Smoke free, pet free home. All clocks are cleaned and odors removed.
