Antique Huge Heavy French Bronze Cathedral Clock 19th Century Japy Freres Works
Antique Huge Heavy French Bronze Cathedral Clock 19th Century Japy Freres Works
SOLD $327.00 Sold: Jan 4, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Heavy, Large and Impressive French 19th Century Bronze Clock with Ornate Dial and a Striking Japy Freres Movement, in Fully Working Condition Great, very large and impressive bronze clock. The movement is fully functional, stamped with a Japy Freres medal but should get a thorough professional cleaning. Ornate dial is superb. The rear door is missing its glass and front bezel glass is a replacement, with some edge scrapes. This clock should have a convex beveled glass there, there are shops that can make a proper replacement. If interested, there is a lively discussion on recommended (and not recommended) glass shops on NAWCC forum, featuring yours truly. Just search on boris clock glass. The ornament around the movement is most likely a replacement, antique and proper, but its design is slightly off and it fits a bit weird. Looks great though. Bell and pendulum were removed to take a better picture of the movement, but both are included. I will include a key as well. Pictures speak for themselves but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures approximately 27.5" high, 16.5" wide and 12" deep. It is heavy and large, no international shipping on this one. No reserve, highest bid gets it.I am not doing any business, buying or selling, with anyone residing in Russia until Russia withdraws from Ukraine, no exceptions. This clock, like any other pendulum based clock, has to be put in-beat when setting it up after shipping, otherwise it may not run. There are many videos on line showing how to do this and I am happy to help with advice as well.I am not a clock dealer - I am a clock collector and a member of NAWCC. I currently have more than 200 clocks and I keep buying more, so I have to sell some. I would be selling many more if I had the time to list them...Je parle le français un peu. Si vous êtes français je vous encourage à me parler le français. Please note that I will not ship to an address that is different from the one listed by eBay or PayPal unless the winning bidder can really prove to me that the address is legitimate. My prefered shipping for this is FedEx Home Delivery - UPS has been very bad at handling packages lately. Please note that FedEx shipments require destination's phone number, if eBay does not have yours and you are concerned about releasing it to me, we can find an alternate method of shipping. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
