SOLD $2,700.00 Sold: Mar 10, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Herschede model 217 Marquis de Lafayette 9 tube grandfather clock @ 1970s. This impressive clock came out of its original estate recently, where it was maintained and in regular use. This clock was professionally overhauled in 2019, and is in very good mechanical condition, running and chiming perfectly as shown in the attached video. It is, however, sold without any warranty. It measures 87" tall x 24 1/2" wide x 15 1/2" deep. The traditionally styled oak case is solid and good, with amazing carving, and retains its excellent original color and finish. This is a deluxe case with a fantastic look. No damage to any of the glass. With original weights, fancy lyre pendulum, and 9 chiming tubular bells. The tubular bells are excellent with no cracks or damage, and all resonate beautifully. The 8 day signed movement runs strong, and chimes your choice of 3 different tunes on the quarter hours - Whittington, Canterbury, or Westminster. There are some tiny scattered age expected spots of oxidation on some the surfaces, but overall this clock presents excellent. With winding key. Please see the photos attached for the complete description, and ask any questions you may have. No reserve. Blanket wrapped shipping in the continental USA will be $500.00. I will also deliver and set up this clock to a 100 mile radius of Chicago for $200.00. Please message me for details. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
