Bradley & Hubbard Working Antique Mantle from 1859
Bradley & Hubbard Working Antique Mantle from 1859
SOLD $395.00 Sold: Jan 11, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
- Inside of the Clock is a note that reads “Fine bronze, black ornamental, Pearl and Wood. Eight Day and One Day Brass Clocks and Marine Time Piece”- Above the “12” is an engraved “Pat May 10 1859”- The Winding Mechanism on the clock works, please see the video. The clock hands are working. That being said, I can not tell you if the clock is accurate….but from my non-expert eye, and the video…the clock does appear to be working.- Please note, the pendulum does work, but from my own observation, it seems to be a bit off centered. I want to make this point very clear….this is an old clock and sometimes the pendulum needs to be adjusted so that it doesn’t hit the door…I’ve had to reach into the clock to turn the pendulum which seems to fix the issue.- Just prior to listing the clock I ran the clock for 9-hours overnight… when I woke up the clock was still running, and the pendulum was still moving.- Condition issues are in the pictures, there does appear to be some minor scratches, but the most obvious condition issue appears to be on the door of the clock….there seems to be a weld on the hinge of the door.- The brass around the clock appears tarnished, and some of the numbers on the clock face are worn.- The black lacquer on the back seems intact…but may have been repainted over the years.- 16.5” Tall, 14” Wide ( Measurement taken at Base), 3” Deep (Condition: Pre-Owned)
