New ListingIGOR CARL FABERGE IMPERIAL CARRIAGE SWISS MANTEL CLOCK
SOLD $995.00 Sold: Feb 23, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
The clock was designed by Igor Carl Faberge and represents one of the last pieces to be produced at Faberge's Geneva atelier before the family sold the firm in the mid-1980s. The design of the clock's case is styled after the sweeping rococo lines of the grand staircase in the famed Hermitage Museum (formerly the Winter Palace) in St. Petersburg, Russia. The same motif is carried through in the design of the minted gold on sterling face. Ten faceted rubies highlight the design and distinguish the quarter hours on the dial. The clock's 11-jewel movement consists of solid brass plates finished in 24K yellow gold. The movement is visible through glass panels on either side of the case, and a rectangular window beneath the ornately sculptured handle reveals the balanced "heart" of the mechanism. The clock stands approximately 5.5" H (inclusive of handle) x 3"W x 2.5"D (Condition: Pre-Owned)
