Lecoultre Atmos Clock 540 - Brass-Case Clock
SOLD $1,225.00 Sold: Feb 3, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Jaeger-Le Coultre Atmos 540 in golden movement, polished gold cage posts with rare Roman numerals and thirteen jewel movement. See pictures and carefully read my description before bidding. It is being sold as is. It’s due for recommended maintenance. It starts running as normal but then stops. It’s serial number is 666,169. Bidders need to be aware that Atmos clocks are rare, unique and fascinating timepiece treasures but they do not keep perfect time like the modern quartz clocks. The clock was awarded to a successful business entrepreneur and executive in 1993 and is now being offered for sale. It has been kept indoors and always handled carefully. Purchased documentation, manuals, instructions and the original box are not included or available. I printed and included Instructions from the website of a master clockmaker. My opinion is he is an excellent potential service source but in no way is he responsible for this clock or it’s operation. Online search information commonly states that Atmos manufacture and service technicians recommend Atmos Clocks be cleaned and inspected for possible repairs every 20 years, or as needed; some clocks can run much longer before needing service; some run less. NOTE:This one is definitely due for routine periodic service. It runs for a short while but stops. Based on googled Atmos information this possibly indicates lubrication of the spring is perhaps needed but the root cause is best determined by a qualified Amos technician. The clock is located in Zip code 77339 and will be shipped via UPS economy ground service or usps priority ; double boxed with cushioning around the clock as well as securing the primary box inside the second box. It will be insured for the final bid amount plus shipping charge. No foreign shipping is offered.I don’t know the exact date of manufacturing but only years by serial number as shown in picture showing serial numbers and years of manufacturing.
Note: This item has been sold and is no longer available. This page serves as a historical price reference for clocks collectors and appraisers.
