SOLD $1,495.00 Sold: Jan 5, 2025 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Early German quarter striking ebonized bracket clock circa 1730 built by Johannes Beidelrock, Augsberg, Germany. Beautiful Baroque period ebonized pearwood bracket clock in good original as found condition measuring 17 3/4" tall (with the handle up) x 9 1/2" wide x 6" deep. The case is solid and good and retains its original ebonized finish with wear. The top bale handle, and the front and back door escutcheons are original, while the top brass finials may be old replacements. The fancy brass dial is signed by the maker who dates to 1730. It's a beautiful brass dial which is original to the movement and has a calendar aperture that shows the date. Great original hands. The 30 hour three train movement strikes Petite Sonnerie on the quarter hours, and strikes Grande Sonnerie on the hours. There is a pull cord on the side of the clock that rings the latest time. The movement is complete and intact, it was completely restored this year. It is keeping good time with its original verge escapement, and striking correctly on its two original bells. I cannot guarantee the clock after shipping and am selling with no warranty. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
