Vintage 1962 Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Clock Rare Orig Owner Ephemera Pkg Serviced
SOLD $995.00 Sold: Nov 2, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
This vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos clock is a rare find for any clock enthusiast. Being a one owner clock with its original ephemera and packaging makes this package very unique. This was bought by my father for my mother on their 25th wedding anniversary in 1962 for $125.00 (which is equivalent to $1,275.00 in 2024) on jewelers row in Chicago. My father was a depression era child, they threw nothing away, that is why we have all the ephemera that came with the clock, plus additional materials he collected on Lecoultre later on is also included. Lovingly cared for over the years and kept behind glass doors in my parents dining room hutch it was never handled until their passing at which time our family had it serviced in 2022. The clock is powered by atmospheric pressure and features a pendulum with moving parts, making it a unique and interesting piece. The clocks serial number sets it's manufacturing date to 1962, made in Switzerland and signed LeCoultre. It comes from us the famly of the original owners and all the ephemera and packaging included at time of purchase is included. The clock has been serviced in 2022 (receipt in photos) to ensure its functionality. Proper setup and leveling (using the internal built in bubble level is necessary) (original instruction manual is included) The Atmos (named for atmosphere) clock needs to acclimate to its environment to begin keeping consistent time. After a week of acclimating there is a lever to speed up or slow down the clock (recommend watching an online video before attempting this). The clock hands should only be moved when the lever underneath the clock is slid to the right to lock down the movement. Once positioned its not recommend to move the clock. The glass cover has pins to secure cover in place. If moving the clock lock the hands and never lift from the cover only from the base. This LeCoultre Atmos clock is a perpetual motion clock (a self winding mechanism using the temperature and humidity changes in the air to wind it) and has the serial number #157219. It weighs 11 lbs and measures 8.5" in length, 6.5" in width, and 9.5" in height. This will ship inside its original LeCoultre shipper carton then put inside a second carton, the second carton is wrapped in bubble pack and put inside a 3rd carton that is double wall thick, we take packaging seriously. This will ship Fedex ground fully insured with adult signature required. This will only ship to the lower 48 states, all other locations are excluded. Happy to answer any questions. Please check my feedback and buy with confidence. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
