Martin Cushman's 1st Mantle Clock, 2009, Signed, Inscribed, Pottery, Florida Faience, GoldLabel Description: This monumental mantle clock, one of the potters masterpieces, captures the lush Florida tropical landscape with bold white cranes, greenish brown alligators, and a Seminole Indian couple and child in traditional clothing, all nestled in plants draped with Spanish moss. The Seminole people and base are individually crafted. The clock face is masterly painted in a moonlight cabin and swamp scene. The Seminole father holds a baby alligator. Be sure you notice the crane chicks being for food in the nest at the top. Signed, "My 1st Mantle Clock, Martin Cushman, One Legged." Dimensions: The clock is approximately 20" tall and the tray is near 12" wide.Date: Dated 2009Maker: Martin Cushman Condition: Excellent condition, Years ago, Mr. Cushman made a slight repair to the highest bird on top, unnoticeable in the photos, difficult to spot in person.
