New SETH THOMAS WESTMINSTER ANTIQUE CHIME CLOCK NUMBER 70-1928 REBUILT 113
New SETH THOMAS WESTMINSTER ANTIQUE CHIME CLOCK NUMBER 70-1928 REBUILT 113
SOLD $1,295.00 Sold: Sep 8, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
CHIME CLOCK No. 70 AMERICAN WALNUT– 1928 Offered today is this extraordinary find for your viewing, listening and buying pleasure. A very hard to find Seth Thomas Chime No. 70 made in the year of 1928. The case is made out of American Walnut wood and still shows its beautiful unaltered shellac finish. The case has a few character marks which can all be seen in the pictures, and is in excellent condition for a clock this old. A nice stenciled design that is original on top of the clock case transitioning to a beautiful green gold finish dial behind the encased glass front door. The dial is very clean and back door has a slight outward bow and doesn’t close all the way but the front door opens and closes properly as it should. I think two sticks on the end and one in the middle in a vice for a week will correct the bow. As you can see the movement is in great shape and has polished brass plates making this a high end of the Seth Thomas clocks. The massive 113A movement weighs in at just over 5 pounds and has been completely and properly rebuilt by me. The timing is exceptionally accurate throughout the week and has proper power as shown in the Fast Slow picture. Each quarter-hour chimes on the four Mayland chime rods which are by far the best sounding of any chime rods of the Seth Thomas collection. The first quarter-hour plays four notes. Eight notes on the half hour and 12 notes play on the three quarter hour. At the top of each hour 16 notes play the full Westminster chime followed by the hour count striking on the fifth rod. This clock comes with its original key (very hard to find), its polished brass bob and leader and everything on this clock is fully functional. This is a full size chime clock which measures 15” H X 11 ½” W X 8” D that would compliment any of your room’s décor with its beauty and sound. Buy it for a birthday, anniversary or wedding gift for that special someone or just buying it for your own collection to pass on as a family Heirloom. Your clock will be carefully packed with instructions and my contact number and because of its size, weight and value, shipping will be charged at a flat rate of only $65.00 FedEx Ground/Home Delivery in the continental United States only. DELIVERY CONFIRMATION INSURANCE SIGNATURE REQUIRED UPON DELIVERY WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE SHIPPING RATE AND WILL BE INSURED AT THE FULL ACTUAL SELLING PRICE. This clock will be sold as is and the seller has the right to end the auction at anytime. This is a need nothing clock except for leveling and winding it up once a week.
