Hello.Around the year 2005, the wife and I visited a fancy clock shop in Winchester, England. Price for mantel close often was close to 3,000 pounds.At the Winchester store, they suggested the manufacture of Knight & Gibbins. Cabinets were made in England the internal comes from Germany: Hemle who was famous for fine clocks. Original boxing is with enclosed original key. This is an 8 day windup key and if you read the photos shown here you can get specifics of the clock including measurements of box.The chime is very pleasant: 4 notes at quarter past, then 8 notes at half, 12 notes at 45 and full 16 notes at the hour. After playing the notes, the hour of the clock is played such as as 3 single notes for 3 and 9 single notes at 9 etc. In the photo special here in the second position you can hear the chime and the hour as examples.Clock worked fine for 15 years and then needed cleaning, light oil and further lubrication. The wait at Swiss House was about 9 months and then they did the work. This is normal for Orlando, FL and may be similar to your area. The clean-lubricate was $300.Please see that I have some 800 transactions on ebay with 100% positive feedback so you the customer will we well cared for. We have the original box for clock and key and these would be packed nicely inside another box and peanuts all around. Shipping to any address in USA will be $60.
