Here is a Recent Estate Find. This is a Rare Antique Working 1944 CHELSEA WWII U.S. Military Large Bakelite Porthole Ship Deck Wall Clock, Made By The Chelsea Clock Company Boston Mass. USA. The Clock Measures approx. 10 1/4" in Diameter with a 8" Dial. The Case is Made of Black Bakelite and Has a 'Hinged' Bezel, with Porthole Style Design. The Dial is the Original Silver Metal Dial with Arabic Numerals, and Large Seconds Sweep Hand, Signed "Chelsea Clock Co. Boston" and "U.S. Maritime Commission". It Has a Chelsea 8 Day Brass Mechanical Wind-Up Spring Driven 'Time Only' Movement with Balance Wheel and Lever Escapement, Signed "Chelsea Clock Co. Boston USA 471500". The Serial Number Dates This Clock to 1944. This is the Correct Movement for This Case, and the Movement and Case Have Matching Serial Numbers!!! This is a Key Wind Clock and Includes a Winding Key. This is Used and in Good Original Condition and Good Working Order. There is Some Paint on the Case, Otherwise Fine! It Has Not Been Serviced, Sold As Found.
