This is a fine example of a Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach Germany Oak and brass Bracket clock circa 1890 that is in excellent working order and is most splendid. The Cabinet is of a beautiful golden oak with fine brass ormolu and feet with brass pineapple finials. The silvered dial is in good overall condition with nice patina and ornate brass plates in very good condition with a subsidiary dial for F/S adjust. There are 2 hairline cracks in the top front of the cabinet molding on both sides. these do not detract from its overall beauty. please see last photos.The movement is a 3 train Westminster chime with pull repeat that is in excellent working condition and keeps very good time, it chimes on the quarter hour accurately and beautifully. All 3 mainsprings that power the clock were replaced in 2006 and the movement has been professionally serviced multiple times in the last 20 years. The clock comes with the original extra large brass key.The clock measures 18 1/2" tall x 12 1/2'' wide x 9'' & Hofmeier were considered the finest clockmakers of the Victorian era in the Black Forest region and this is a nicely preserved and cared for example.Please message me with any questions..
