SOLD $1,323.00 Sold: May 19, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Large French moon phase repeating carriage clock with complications made my L'Epee @ 1990, and retailed by Asprey in London. This is a fantastic one owner clock that came out of an estate recently, where it was maintained and in regular use. It was made by L'Epee in France in the 1990s or early 2000s. This company is still in business today, and this clock is listed on their website as still being offered, with a price of over $15,000.00. All beveled glasses are original and good, with no damage. The extremely high quality and detailed case retains its original gilt finish, with some normal wear from weekly handing to wind, and looks very good. Original signed porcelain dial is perfect with no damage. Original hands. The 8 day hour repeating movement runs good and keeps excellent time with its original platform escapement, but it is sold without any warranty due to shipping. Movement runs strong, and strikes and repeats correctly. This is an extremely deluxe clock with automated phases of the moon, days of the week, days of the month, and alarm. The subsidiary dials and moon dial are fully automated via complicated gearing on the back of the dial. All functions and the striking repeating work correctly. Great clock! Dimensions are: 7" tall with the handle up x 3 3/4" wide x 3 1/4" deep. Weighs in at 4 pounds. With winding key. No reserve. USPS shipping in the continental USA will be $40.00. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
