Large Chelsea Base & Ball ship's bell clock with Special Grand 10" dial @ 1920s

Large dial Chelsea Base and Ball solid bronze ship's bell mantel clock @ early 1920s. This is an extremely rare clock that came out of an estate recently, where it was maintained and in regular use - this clock is in excellent original as found condition. The case has been polished and lacquered at some point in the past, and looks great, although it could have it's original antique bronze finish restored if desired. The case has an amazing look, a real work of art, and very impressive at 15 1/2" tall x 15 1/2" wide x 5" deep, and weighing in at 31 pounds. No damage or missing pieces to the case. The fancy Special Grand 10" diameter dial is excellent with its original finish and signature, being signed for the retailer J.E. Caldwell, Philadelphia. Great original fancy hands. The 8 day movement is marked Chelsea and serial number 137362, which matches the serial number stamped into the wooden base of the case, and dates between 1920 to 1924. It is complete and intact with good mainsprings, running strongly and accurately with it's original lever escapement, and striking ship's bells on the hours and half hours on its original gong, but is sold without any warranty.
