This is a very beautiful vintage new 8-day alarm clock gilded rectangle with gold oval dial by Jaeger LeCoultre of Switzerland. Gold plated heavy brass case with high-polished and contrasting matte finish on the back control panel. The case has a real nice map pattern look. Back showing the control/setting panel (including the winding key for time and alarm, Start/Stop lever for alarm, time setting key, alarm setting key, and screw to increase or decrease the mechanism march). Inscribed on the bottom of the clock "LeCoultre Co Swiss 118." Manufacture Jaeger LeCoultre SA is a Swiss luxury watch and clock manufacturer founded by Antoine LeCoultre in 1833 and is based in Le Sentier, Switzerland. In 1866 Antoine and his son, Elie LeCoultre established the Vallée de Joux's first full-fledged manufacture, LeCoultre & Cie., pooling their 500 employees’ expertise under one roof. From 1902 to 1932, LeCoultre produced most of the movement blanks for Patek Philippe of Geneva. From 1903-1918 it worked for French jeweler Cartier using Jaeger movements for Cartier watches. Since its inception the company has produced over 1,242 different calibers, registered approximately 400 patents and created hundreds of inventions. Today, the company is a fully owned subsidiary of the Swiss luxury group Richemont and regarded as a top-tier Richemont brand, which holdings include Van Cleef & Arpels, Montblanc, Chloé and Piaget.
