From our personal collection, we offer this stunning, antique French mantel clock by Hippolyte Francois Moreau. Beautifully detailed, the case features a beautiful, scantilly clad maiden standing beside a fountain, with a bird perched as if greeting her "hello". The fountain itself with a "stone" wall flanked on each side with dolphins. Each dolphin has glass eyes, so unique! Oh the finish on this (yes, it is original) features cold painted verdigris on the fountain and her dress, further bronze finish throughout and the maiden's body finished with the original zinc finish. Just stunning!!! The sculptural case sets atop a rouge marble base. Measurements are 21" high, 13 inches wide, and 7 inches in deep. The clock is signed by F Moreau (Hippolyte Francois Moreau, b. 1832 d. 1926) signature shown in last photo. Works by this artist show high demand historically. The clock face decorated with enameled flowers. Pendulum driven, key wind movement, which runs and keeps time. May need adjustment upon arrival to you.
