Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Clock 540 Vintage 13 Jewels, Used To Work, Moving Parts
SOLD $838.00 Sold: Mar 24, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
This Jaeger LeCoultre Atmos Clock 540 is a vintage desk clock made in Switzerland. With 13 jewels, it used to work and may still do so. The clock is made of brass and glass materials and features a pendulum/moving parts mechanism. The frame and finish are also made of brass. This collectible decorative clock has a model number of 631928 and is perfect for vintage/retro style enthusiasts. Its brand and type are Jaeger LeCoultre and desk clock, respectively. This clock is a great addition to any shelf or mantel. We inherited this and it worked for a us for a short time but never accurately mostly because we didn’t know anything about how to run it. I do know how to lock the pendulum and it’s currently locked in place and will remain that way for shipping. We’ve had this clock since 2010 but we haven’t attempted to run it since then. We saw the pendulum and hands moved freely when we attempted to balance it using the bubble back in 2010 but once it stopped moving we didn’t try any longer and it had been sitting here since. I tried to show in photos that the chain seems to be correctly positioned with no extra slack chain hanging down or anything like that. It seems that it just needs to have maintenance done to it. But therefore I can’t guarantee it works now only that it once moved freely and without effort. Since it didn’t remain moving we didn’t try to get it started again and it has been sitting since 2010.I will ship the clock in a box inside another box so there’s a wall of packing material buffering the box the clock is in from the outer box. Will remain locked. Glass front will be secured so doesn’t clang around. Will insure and send priority. Ask questions if you need more info and I’ll try to answer the best I can.It just came to my attention there was supposed to be a little knob attached to the top of the front brass piece so the glass could be opened. Unfortunately I never saw any knob when we inherited the clock so there’s no knob for this clock. I was able to open it carefully without harming it by using the notched area to grab the glass to open.On Mar-17-24 at 18:01:28 PDT, seller added the following information:Has only ever been in my husband’s family. Went from an aunt whose husband received it and then it sat in my mother in laws house and then we inherited it. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
