Chelsea Clock Co. CENTENNIAL100TH ANNIVERSARY SERIAL #585I have the pleasure of offering one of my favorite clocks in our inventory. These clocks are made to celebrate Chelsea's 100th "Anniversary of Clockmaking". These beautiful clocks according to Chelsea were patterned and inspired by President Eisenhower's 12-inch Chelsea Clock which appeared on their catalog in 1995. They felt it appropriate to recreate that clock for their 100th Anniversary since that clock was evidently made in 1912. All I can tell you is this is one of the most beautiful Chelsea Clocks I have ever owned, complete with Grand Dial! Just an heirloom piece. Nothing will look better in your office than this cool, streamlined gorgeous brass clock! It is so prominent looking it even looks like $$$ lol. These clocks are priced at $5295 from Chelsea!!!!!!! It is a huge chunk of change for sure and it will look like it on display! #585 is a Presentation Clock (see pictures), it was acquired at an Estate Sale in our area. The clock of course features the Chelsea Ship Bell Code for the Strike. The Grand Dial has been recreated for this clock; this version of the dial is more like a skeleton clock because you can actually see the Movement working behind the dial! When I first acquired the clock, I didn't even see the winding holes, because of the intricacies of this dial lol. I have included in the pictures the listing from Chelsea on these clocks, evidently they are still available at $5295!!!...as I mentioned above. I am now going to let Chelsea describe the clock from their own website: "Created to celebrate Chelsea Clock’s 100th year of fine American clock making, the Centennial features a handsome forged solid brass case and hinged bezel-set atop a hand-finished American walnut and brass base. The clock's 6” silvered brass dial features elegant gold-plated numerals and an intricate gold-plated reveal centerpiece. The precision wind-up Chelsea movement chimes the traditional Ship’s Bell code. Each Centennial is individually numbered and registered in Chelsea’s manufacturing log book. This distinctive, handcrafted timepiece signals the passing of time with gentle, rich-sounding chimes – eight bells at 4, 8 and 12 o’clock to mark the end of a mariner’s four-hour watch, with one bell the first half-hour after, plus one additional bell with each subsequent half-hour. Behind its classic, hand-silvered dial, 364 precision brass parts and 11 jewel movements, all of which are made in Chelsea Massachusetts, ensure accuracy in time and enduring quality for years to come. Since the first patented Ship’s Bell left our factory in 1900, it has been held as the standard by which all other Chelsea clocks are measured."Good luck to the highest bidder! We are starting this at just $1 like always. This is a serious clock, and it should be interesting where we end up on this one!! I know it won't be over $5000!!
